I think "The Sacred and Profane", "The Imploding Voice", and "The Crying Tree of Mercury" are the three worst on the album. If those 3 were to be replaced bu tracks such as "Home", "White Spyder", or "Let Me Give the World to You", it would be the perfect album.

Pff!

I thought epitome had copied my idea for a moment when I clicked this thread, but I didn't realise that my thread and epi's thread were similarly named, and that he had written his 6 months earlier.

ANYWHO

Here's my list. I'm listening to it right now, it sounds shit-hot.

1. Lucky 13
2. Stand Inside Your Love
3. This Time
4. Slow Dawn
5. Let Me Give the World to You
6. Real Love
7. Cash Car Star (LP version)
8. The Everlasting Gaze
9. Glass and the Ghost Children
10. With Every Light
11. Go
12. Home
13. Age of Innocence
Length of album: 57:27

Mainly slow songs, soft songs or love songs but I think it’s a great continuation of Adore, but with a much harder, rocking side to it also.

The transition between "Go" and "Home" gives me the chills.

Shame, as you can see in my thread, Hope is NOT a Machina era song.

Although, I like the rest of your list, it reminds me of mine, maybe we appreciate the light-hearted side of Pumpkins as much as the tough-as-old-boots side.

My favorite Machina songs are (no special order)

1.The Everlasting Gaze
2.Stand Inside You Love
3.Glass and the Ghost Children
4.The Crying Tree of Mercury
5.Blue Skies Bring Tears
6.Heavy Metal Machine (alternate version- it sounds cooler I think)
7.Raindrops+ Sunshowers
8.The Sacred and Profane (I like it, I just think it sounds more like a MCIS b-side or something)
9.Slow Dawn
10.Lucky 13
11.White Spyder
12.Dross
13.Le Deux Machina
14.Real Love
15.Go
16.Let Me Give the World To You
17.Speed Kills (not the Machina II version)
18.Laugh
19.Lover

To bad Machina wasn't released as a double album. It would have been a great record I think.

Yeah, that's what I always think when I want to listen to Machina II and get disappointed at the horrible distorted sound ALL Machina Twos have, FLAC, MP3, WAV, they all sound distorted. I want to listen to those amazing songs in a proper quality. I swear this just ruins the whole Machina II experience for me and it kills me, man, because I really love those songs.

I think it enhances the Machina II experience for me. After the subtleness of Adore and the production heavy Machina, the lo-fi raw sound was a welcome change. It has a great, hard energy to it. An energy I think would be lost if the songs were properly mastered re-released. There's also the feeling of a "band," collectively getting together and feeling out the songs. Almost a rehersal of sorts for Machina. I absolutely love it and wouldn't change anything about it.

However I understand people wanting a slightly cleaned up version, and they are avialable, but I'm happy with what we got.

i'm happy we got machina II, but i'd like a cleaned up version, and yes, a double album would've been awesome. I hope the pumpkins make another double album in the coming years, but then again, it would only get compared to mcis.

Weird. I think a lot of the songs on Machina II sound cleaner than the tracks on Machina, many of which have that fuzzy distortion crap all over them.

I don't think there are really enough good songs for a double album. I fit all the songs I like (barring one that I wouldn't have minded adding) on to one CD. Adding the others would have detracted from the experience as, to me, they just aren't very good songs.

Haha, as if Zeitgeist wasn't compared to SD and MCIS enough...

This is how I feel about most double albums in particular. It's hard enough to have a single album that doesn't have a few filler tracks, so being able to release a double album with no filler is a hell of a feat, seeing as there would be twice as much.

MCIS is perfect, the only thing I would have done with it is replace "Stumbline" with "Rotten Apples" and "Love" with... hmm... "Marquis in Spades"?

It's hard to replace "Love", there's really no other song like it..

whoa, not stumbleine, that song is beautiful. I would replace We Only Come Out At Night with Ugly and take out Take Me Down (I like the song but...) I would want the Aeroplane Flies High on the first disk. Thus, you'd have to two long songs on each disk.

Haha, at least I would replace it with a song that sounded similar..

I think maybe I would replace Love with Cherry, they both have trippin' effects, and the "wha-wha-wha-wha-wha-wha" noise on Cherry is really cool.

I can't think of anything you could replace WOCOAN though. I wouldn't want to replace it anyways..

I like AFH, but really, it's not as EPIC as the other three epic songs on MCIS. It's a bit like X.Y.U. I suppose, but X.Y.U. has a bit more variety in it, both musically and emotionally. But as always, I'm probably looking at it too deeply.

Maybe there isn't enough Machina for a double album, but it would have been cool if they had released it even as a seperate album. I don't mind rough edits, demo type stuff, but it would be cool to hear cleaned up versions.

As for MCIS, I wouldn't really change a thing. I like it just the way it is, except for Take Me Down maybe.

i see the aeroplane flies high song as a great song that would've been a nice addition to mellon collie. Especially when the 2nd guitar comes in with that solo.

But it does make a nice centrepiece to a TAFH boxset compilation CD
