Re:August dates coming!!! 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
The "pajama shows," as they were dubbed, were the early 1996 shows the band did in a small intimate club type setting. During the first set the band came out in pajamas and played a small song acoustic set followed by the traditional electric set. This was sort of a warm up to the Infinite Sadness tour.

Traditionally the set would look similar to this:

http://www.archive.org/details/tsp1996-01-03.MKE2002.flac16
Set One:
Tonight, Tonight
In the Arms of Sleep
Cupid de Locke
Thirty-three
Today
Lily
Take Me Down
Beautiful
Rocket
Galapogos

Set Two:
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (over PA)
Where Boys Fear to Tread
Zero
Fuck You
To Forgive
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Thru the Eyes of Ruby
1979
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans
Jellybelly
Disarm
Cherub Rock

Encore One:
We Only Come Out at Night
Geek U.S.A.

Encore Two:
X.Y.U.
Farewell and Goodnight

Also included my favorite version of Rocket

I think a ticket between $40-$70 would be enough to weed out the "casual fans" who want to hear only the hits, like BC said. Anything over that is...a little much. Even if it was the original line-up I'd have to question my sanity here...
In some sense, I can understand the logic, but in some sense I can't. What about the die-hard fans that simply cannot afford $70 for a ticket? I know I can't. I am still in school and going into debt by the second. I was lucky enough to see them the first time around a handful of times (never with the original 4 all together at once though), and I haven't seen them in nearly 8 years. There are still some die-hards that never got to see them period as well.

I find a bit bizarre that it's the start of July and they only now getting ready to announce to tour dates for August. Is Chicago going to be involved in this? Or is it just going to be under the 20th anniversary shows? any rumors on that?

On a side note, I would love to see the 'pajama parties' come back. In Winnipeg in 1996 we didn't have one, but I saw footage from the Brixton Academy performance.

Well, I was mainly referring to PistolPete's idea of tix being between $100-$150. THAT, I think, is ridiculous. I don't care if James Iha and D'Arcy flew down from the ceiling, knocked out Ginger and Jeff, and began playing a 2 /12 hour set. Point is, I have trouble affording a $70 ticket, but I still think that is reasonable in certain situations. To pay about $150 a pop to see the "New" Pumpkins perform (probably without any supporting acts) seems pretty stupid. I myself have been an avid fan since childhood, and never got to see them live due to my age. I would kill to see even the new line-up live, as it's still BC&JC. Still, that's a little much.

I understand it's just his guess and nothing official...still...that's just overkill. If that were the case I would definitely question BC's validity in caring about the music. To me, if the price were indeed that high, it would scream "greed" and "money hungry."

Oh god no, as if we didn't get enough people complaining about that on the release of Zeitgeist(s).

Well I completely understand, and this isn't a shot at you...but in a way the higher ticket prices will work. Simply because you're not going to buy a ticket for that much, but I will. And there are hundreds more like me that are willing to take your place. BTW tickets for the Zeitgeist tour were $45-$65, and Pumpkins Media Militia said we can expect higher prices. So that's why I'm thinking $100-$150.

i would gladly pay 150 to 200 dollars to see them, no questions asked. that is how much i want to see them. i don't care if i have to pawn things to get all the money. or borow and then have to spend ages paying it back. cause i will need gas money too.

seeing them live and in person in a smaller venue is worth it to me.

I wish they would announce the dates already, I'm tired of worrying about it and checking my computer every 5 minutes...

I am sorry Pistol but their justification for possibly higher ticket prices implied that you are not a huge fan of the Pumpkins if you not able to able to pay for the tickets. I think you probably know by now I am far from a casual fan, and I have done a lot to see the Pumpkins or celebrate the band (nothing too crazy, but still). I recall discussions on message boards, I am not sure if it was on here or Blamo or both, where this sort of discussion came up. When I said about having school (that I would not be able to miss class if there was a conflict) and not being able to afford high ticket prices, I got some retort about 'priorities'.
