My apologies for the last update where I initially jumped the gun declaring Eric the new bassist for the Smashing Pumpkins. His involvement turned out to be fleeting, and they've now pretty much stopped working together.

Eric is currently hard at work mixing his record. So it shouldn't be much longer. In addition, he still plans to offer everything from Polar Bear's catalog soon on various download sites, including some totally unreleased songs. So while we most likely won't be seeing Eric up on stage alongside Billy playing to a packed stadium, us fans of his have plenty to look forward to in the near future.

Thanks for the update. Guess we're still left in suspense!

Not true, they hate each other, and if not, Darcy hates Jimmy. Which is a contributing factor to my lothing for her.

James and D'arcy didn't hate each other by that point...nor had they ever since the end of the Gish tour. Haven't you realized that all the animosity was directed at Billy? That's got to imply that perhaps Billy was the one who was disliked by both James and D'arcy. I recall seeing one of those "sightings" columns (on spfc perhaps) long ago that James and D'arcy were having lunch together at a restaurant in Evanston, Illinois...this was after the end of the band and obviously after D'arcy had left. Do you really think that they'd be doing something like that if they hated each other?

Well I don't know the personal disageements amongst the original members of SP. And it would be really nice to see all four of them together again but I don't think that'll will hapen. Plus, if D'arcy is still doing drugs then I don'y know if Billy would put up with such a thing.

We need that guy from VH1's "Bands Reunited" show - you know the one that looked like M. Night Shyamalan...He could talk some since into everyone and make the realize that the music is more important than their differences. I really like that show - they should bring it back and start with SP!!!
