having attended both shows, I way prefered the Red Rocks version. Maybe I was just hoping they'd play something else at Davenport.

Personally, I haven't like any of the newer versions of "Heavy Metal Machine" they have played over the past couple of years. And no it's not a nostalgia thing, because they are perfectly capable of playing interesting new live takes on their songs in the past and present. But I just haven't liked any live version of the song other than the versions played during the Machina tour.
