terry date? 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago

i was reading through the zeitgeist liner notes again and noticed that r.t.baker only worked on three of the twelve songs, while terry date worked on the other nine. so why in all the interviwes over the last year have i not heard a single comment from billy or jimmy about terry date? did they toss him half way through like brad wood?

Terry Date only produced four songs for Zeitgeist with the other six produced by only Billy and Jimmy. Still, that's more than Roy.

I was also wondering about the Terry Date neglect in interviews.

In the "Inside Zeitgeist" DVD they mention that RTB was only person who's role grew throughout the process.
I'm sure that TD did a suitable job but RTB really pushed and encouraged them to try anything, which is the 'Pumpkins way'.

terry date is credited as producing four songs, but he is also credited as recording the five songs that were produced by billy and jimmy. so i'm guessing he did the basic tracks for nine songs, finished four of them and then got in a fight with billy. then they brought in bjorn thorsrud to record the over dubs and finishing touches on the songs that bc/jc produced themselves. it's all in the fine print in the back of the zeitgeist booklet.
ok, so i just re-read jimmy's love letters #2, that say that they worked with r.t.b. first. so that's confusing. if they were having such a great time with him, then why did he leave? i wonder if they ended up producing themselves to save money...

Yeah that is a little weird in retrospect.
