The set if fucking amazing. The new intros and jams they added to the songs kick ass. Billy's voice is killer and everything is running on full cylinders.
"Hey kids not so fast.
You didn't think this mother fucking band was coming back!
I thought you knew me better than that.
You can kiss my mother fucking ass!"
Discuss...mainly why is this tour sooo much better than the Zeitgeist tour?
because now Billy is doing what he wants!
Zeitgeist was more a coming out if you will, laying the ground work.
Now its time to fucking let go and rawk!!
I've only watched vids but I would have to agree with AE. They are doing what they want and having fun out there and they are gelling well! Seeing that makes you want to be a part of it all the more.
Oh and the Set List is a blast to listen to and watch!
I can honestly say the show I went to from the August tour (Charlotte) was much better than the one I went to from the Zeitgeist tour (Atlanta). The Charlotte show was just incredible. United States has been one of my favorite songs since Zeitgeist came out, and the new additions to the song are absolutely amazing. Superchrist leading into United States is pure rock orgasm. He's got such an attitude, and he's so funny. Plus, you can tell he's just having fun. And like Pete said, the setlist really is incredible and the show itself is just stunning. So after seeing this in person and watching YouTube videos, I'm officially sick of people saying Billy came back just for the money and that he's not putting his heart into his music anymore. The man puts on one hell of a show along with the rest of the band, and I'm very, very anxiously awaiting what the future holds.

i think that's it. i think they are just finally really settling back into being "the pumpkins" properly where before they were just working towards getting things going again band wise with new songs, new members, etc.
They are all way more comfortable with each other and the music. BC and JC had been away from SP for 7 years when the Zeitgeist tour started. And the other 3 were brand new members. Now they've all worked, played, and toured together for over a year and they're just a lot more comfortable and confident.
The Asheville residency show was amazing, but for the most part they all just stood there on stage, delivered the songs, and left. On this tour, they were moving around, enjoying the moment, and just flat out rocking.
I think that on the Zeit tour there were nerves and uncertainty surrounding everything they were doing...they hoped so badly that it would work and everything wouldn't fall through their fingertips again, but they couldn't be certain about anything because of teh 7 year lay-off. Now they have confidence and they're not thinking about that kind of stuff...just letting it flow and doing what comes naturally.
I had no doubt in my mind that Billy would find his groove, and that this would be happening right now.
I believe in him and all he has in store.
I just knew it, and was simply waiting til he found his feet.
YaY Billy!!

they did seem to rock a lot harder than during the zeit tour.
Billy Corgan Sr. came out and jammed with the band after In the Summertime earlier in the week in Florida. And I'm hearing something about For Martha being played tonight in Boca Raton? Not sure on this, but I'll find out.
