Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin will remind us why the Pumpkins are great.
August 18, 2008
Smashing Pumpkins turned out like Kiss: two founders using the original name and hired hands as needed. But then, singer-guitarist Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin always were the bleeding heart and sonic spine of this quintessentially '90s band. There's plenty to like in a tour that touches on the most recent Pumpkins CD, Zeitgeist (2007), and highlights feely-metal classics such as Gish (1991) and Siamese Dream (1993). Showtime is 7 at Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. Tickets $45; Ticketmaster, 561-368-8445 or centre4artsboca.com.
