Smashing Pumpkins turned out like Kiss: two founders using the original name and hired hands as needed. But then, singer-guitarist Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin always were the bleeding heart and sonic spine of this quintessentially '90s band. There's plenty to like in a tour that touches on the most recent Pumpkins CD, Zeitgeist (2007), and highlights feely-metal classics such as Gish (1991) and Siamese Dream (1993). I just found this to be a really strang review. After the kick ass show on the 17th. And then saying that the Pumpkins turned out like kiss, and referring to the other band mates as hired hands.
