i think he did. and it is true, they should just make this site the offical site.

I would assume if they created a message board, they would use the registrations that already exist on SmashingPumpkins.com.

This site kicks ass! It is by far my favorite SP site.

i think it will do fine- the muse official message board is amazing.

by the way, netphoria is great. its probably the best source of information on sp out there. Smashing pumpkins.com is less informative

oh yeah- lots of crap going on.^^ and i guess with the haters bit i was thinking about a few pumpkin haters that were over there who did nothing but constantly attack the band over everything and felt the need to be contrary over every single thing brought up. it just seemed a little much and kind of lame.

Yes this site is great, but sorry, it will not be converting to the official site anytime soon. ;-)
The band has invested a lot of time and effort into their current site. It definitely hasn't turned out exactly how they wanted, or how I wanted and that is due to a lot of things that have no place being discussed in a public forum.

What the band envisions as their site is something very specific and so far, all of the redesigns have missed the mark, more so than the current site. I am holding my breath that the latest iteration hits the mark, or at least close to the target. We will see!

The idea of a message board is something I've wanted since the start. I know the problems involved, but everyone ends up trying to use SP.com as a messageboard anyway. It's painfully obvious that's what is needed. Plus it will increase overall pageviews and interaction. It will keep my much more busy though :-) Raise you hand whomever wants to be a mod!!! ;D

New fans - YES! There will be NOOBS there, and rightfully so! We want new fans, we want to attract hordes of them, shouldn't we? There will always be sites like this that you can use as your homebase, but you older and wiser SP fans will have a chance to educate the younger ones, and perhaps even learn something from them as well. SP.com should be the source for all things pumpkins which it currently is not quite doing the best at. We are working to remedy this but not do it so well as to make all these other great sites obsolete, so rest assured the new site will be more usable and will also keep these sites busy as well.

The O-board kicked the shit out of all the boards, because it was the official sp.com 'board'. It was where Billy posted.
We need new peeps, we need old, we need all kinds of peeps there. Opinions and ideas are awesome. We dont need negativity, and people there just trying to be noticed, and creating drama to do it. Yes it will take major moderation to start off, but it wont take long until the trolls will see that they cant fuck with the board or post thier shit, and will go back to thier bitch rag.
There were so many cool peeps on the old O-board, so much talent, and so much good that was there. That is why Billy posted there. It was amazing!

i am kinda excited to see it. and i agree with AE, we don't need negativity, but if the board is done right, with heavy moderation to let people know not to get out of control, it would be another cool place to go.
