I think you need the negativity, to an extent. Not everyone is going to like everything the band does, and they should be able to express that as well. What's the point of having a one sided conversation?

i think that a civlized discussion, negative or positive, is fine, it is when people start to bag on other users is when it is unncesary.

Exactly. Civilized discussion is what they're after. You do want to positive and the negative. But we had to disable commenting on the articles on the site because it was anything but civilized discussion. I just don't see any reason to believe a new o-board would be any different.

Maybe I'm just a cynic, but I've seen it hundreds of times where people just go out of their way to be dicks on message boards....and on a scale that grand....I just don' know.

there is a difference between negative and negativity. Its the frame of mind, the attitude. To just say crap just to be a dick is one thing, to disagree, or not like something is another.

when all the bullshit is not posted, not allowed and is ignored those kind of people will go away.

I am all for civilized discussion. Netphoria is terrible. I hate to go over there, but I do...Whenever this new o-board does work I have confidence that we can all adjust to the new ways of it
This site is fabulous-just kinda loads slow. That would be my only complaint here. SP.com works nice and fast

I also I don't want to see the spammers of non related sp links posted on the new o board..and some subjects just got too OC over there. The judgmental critics on people's opinions on the SP board were just nutty and not comfortable...
We want to feel comfortable and not like we are being criticized for what any of us have to say about SP. But not have the criticism like on Netphoria...I can't stand some of that negativity-it's like an evil circus sometimes

and to Apathy, i just can't be that hopeful. that site is out of hand and, official or not, pretty much crap, so the bullshit will be posted and will be commented on until threads spiral out of control and moreover the asses won't leave. they didn't before.

this is sp.com we are talking about. giving it a makeover won't change a thing. plus, the users will be the same old registered bunch. they caused the first censoring, so whats to make you think they will behave this time around, especially given more opportunity to scrap on a grander scale.

well pmm already said that there will be mods. before when it was just coments, no one was really taking down offensive and unrelated coments.

so i do have hope for that message board. i want it to be great.
