Billy and Zwan 3 Months ago
I think it was back in 2003 Zwan were on a live TV show in England called 'Later with Jools' they played some fluffy pop number and then on came Radiohead with a track from their 'Hail to the thief' record and totally blew everyone away.
As zwan played another song ,you could almost see the longing in Billy Corgans eyes ,it was clear to me that he missed the camaradorie of a band that had grown up together and although he was still making music his heart was not in it.
I am not trying to dis Zwan ,but from that moment I knew that the Smashing pumpkins would be back!

never seen Zwan live, but you can definitely see that it wasn't how Billy wanted it to be. I'm glad Zwan is gone and SP is back strong!

Billy's said that the camaraderie in Zwan WAS genuine at the time - I tell you, I've never seen the man more gleeful than when he and Matt Sweeney were simultaneously shredding on the solo for "Settle Down" in concert. But he goes on to say that Zwan was like a fun girlfriend that you know you'll never have a future with. And then it turned ugly, haha.

"For Your Love" would have been a good Pumpkins song.

Altough I hardly ever listen to Zwan, they had some really good songs. The acoustic show in Paris is amazing.

Before Paz joined the camaraderie was genuine, and it seemed everyone was having fun.

i must admit i have only listened to Mary Star of the Sea once in its entirety and i haven't even got the rest of Zwan. i just like a couple of the songs on it though, so i guess i never felt totally compelled to track down the rest of the stuff. i'm not a big Zwan fan. i guess the album just doesn't do much for me.

The album doesn't do much for anyone , 'cause they took out all the really good songs and only performed them live...but don't ask me why!

I've never really listened to any Zwan songs that wern't on Mary Star of the Sea. What songs do you think should have been on the album? I'd be curious to listen to the songs that you all think are the best ones.

As i wrote before, for me it would be "Friends & lovers" "How things are" "Freedom ain't what it used to be" & "El-A-Noy"!
You'll all find them on the two ozphoria.com collections called "Djali Zwan/True poets of Zwan" & "Soul Machines".
Especially "Freedom..." really makes my day!

I quite liked it! It's such a happy album.

Some other songs I'd recommend checking out by Zwan: The Empty Sea, Cast a Stone, Rivers We Can't Cross, Chrysanthemum, and Permanence.
