Best sung song? 2 Months ago
OK, this one is pretty easy:
Which song is, in your opinion, the best(= most emotional and convincing) sung by Billy?
Only studio recordings count!!!

...and it's not about the whole song but only Billy's singing in it!

I'd go with "Winterlong" (the Judas O Version) there's so much feeling in his voice and it's so beautiful sung, I just can't explain...

Okay, I don't think it can be anything from Gish...

I think I have a bias towards For Martha

Otherwise I would have to say Galapogos and X.Y.U.

I think "To Forgive" has some emotional meaning for Billy as well.

I'm going to go with Disarm. But then Blank Page is a close second for me.

...For Martha. His heart is in it and his voice almost quivers at the chorus, if I recall. Plus, I can relate to it.

Otherwise, Disarm, X.Y.U, Galapogos, Stand Inside Your Love, In The Arms Of Sleep...

Are we forgetting Mayonaise? That's a good one.

Also, to whoever said Zeitgeist, I agree. Billy's voice is so soothing in that song, and the acoustic guitar goes hand in hand with it. Possibly the only Zeitgeist era song I'm completely ga-ga over.

"Zeitgeist" is my 6 year old daugther's favorite song. Every time we get in the car she tell me to play "lost down this road"
Then she sings happily along. The I have "rose march" up after that track and she starts singing la la la, la la la. Pretty awesome how the acoustic songs even affect every age.

Then I turn on "7 shades of black" real loud and she holds her ears. I know that might be mean, but I just laugh and say let's rock.

I definitely agree with Disarm. In the Arms of Sleep, Set the Ray to Jerry, and For Martha would be my other choices.
