OK, so it's all set for me now. I'll be in DC on the 11th. do you all on here that will be at that show want to organize a pre-show dinner somewhere?

hmmm... that is a great idea. im up for it. im definitely going to the show for the 11th and am still deciding on the 12th. might have to start another thread for it though.

I'm coming to DC from out of state...who knows of a decent but relatively cheap hotel close to the venue? I'd love to be able to walk to the show from the hotel....don't want to spend a ton of money though. suggestions?

I don't know the area at all, so somebody who does should suggest a meeting place, but I totally think us pumpkins.net folks should meet up for this.

yeah we all definitely should. i cant really help you on the hotel thing. i live in VA but am about 4 hours away from DC. however, i think my wife and i are going to stay with her uncle who lives in fairfax (suburb of DC) and i will ask him soon what kinds of things (hotels, places to eat, etc.) are located near the venue.

Anybody getting a vibe (or something) of which night may be better? I know we don't have actual facts or hints as to what each night will ocntain, but in all honesty, which sounds better? Black Sunshine or White Crosses? Unfortunately I might only afford one night, but we'll see.

If you're just going to one, then one of the single city shows would be best since it will be an abridged version of Black Sunshine and White Crosses.

Hmm...the CT show IS slightly closer. Okay, if I end up going to just one, it'll be that one.

my initial reaction to the black sunshine and white crosses thing was that the black sunshine nights would be the harder rocking more intense songs (let's go mouths of babes and god!!!!) and the white crosses show would be the happier brighter songs. I'm all about black sunshine if that's the case....which is why I chose the first DC show and not the second.

im in a bind but I think i'm going to the first two chicago shows... i'll have to drive two hours for each one because i have class and i can't miss it but it's worth it... i have to see both...

does everyone think the sets for each of the 3 original shows (bs, wm, ss) will be the same. If so, once the tour starts, I think I will have to go into hiding for a couple weeks until the shows in dc, so I can get a fresh take on the show for when they play "ruby" and "crestfallen" - that way I can say I did not see that coming.

What are a couple songs you would love to hear this tour?

Think of possible format - bs (heavy and dark show), wm (light and poppy), ss (mix of both) - pick one song for each night.

Although it's best to go into a Pumpkins show without any expectations , here are my thoughts.

We know that "Black Sunshine" and "White Crosses" will be completely different and no songs will be repeated from the previous night. That's roughly 40-45 songs right there. I would imagine the "Special Shows" will be an abridged version of the two, maybe with a few songs unique to that set. So now were talking ~50 songs for the entire tour.

Based on this I think it’s safe to say the sets will be the same, or very similar (maybe different order) for the entire tour. It wouldn’t be practical to think they could have more than 50 songs under their belt.

As for songs:
All singles will be played over the various nights.
Fan favorites they already know such as ‘Starla,’ ‘Hummer’ and 'Porcelina'
A decent amount of material from all albums
G.L.O.W.
A hand full of acoustic stuff from Billy
At least 2, but not all of these will be played (I Am One, Soma, Geek USA, Jellybelly, Ruby)
I’m thinking MCIS for the opening music
