they ended it because its wasnt successful enough for billy to continue with it. If they sold millions of albums I highly doubt he would have just quit like that.
Actually they ended it because they weren't happy playing together anymore through musical differences and out of the non-ex-SP members, one was on heroin and another was shagging Paz. Also they weren't used to playing big crowds etc... There where many factors to the split.
Not being really succesful was a part of it but not major, Billy thanks the fact they weren't all that succesful as it would of been harder to break things up. I'll see if i can find the official quote unless anyone beats me to it
Bingo. . .I agree that the dysfunctionality had much more to do with it than any lack of commercial success.

You know whats sad? I really didn't get into the memebers of Zwan that much. I think because it seemed so quick to me, like the broke up really fast after their album was relased.
I can't recall what Paz looked like although I knew who she was.
I guess bands just fizzle sometimes. If the chemistry's not there, then to me there is no point in keeping things going, despite how many records were sold.
