Billy always said that D'arcy knew what was good musically. In spite of her mostly average bass playing, she still wrote good parts for herself when she did. She also made good business decisions for the band (again according to Billy). No matter what you have to criticize about her, we all know that the Pumpkins wouldn't be the band that they are without her.
I happen to think that D'arcy's voice was good for what she mainly used it for: backing vocals.
There were many times Billy had said D'arcy was the "conscience" from a musical perspective.

Come on guys. They can't even get their news right. No where has Mike Garson himself said this. All they're reporting on is someone on Netphoria saying it, and that person heard it from a coworker.
That's pretty much my views on the situation, even if it is Netphoria.

I've never seen the Pumpkins live so I'm gonna do my best to catch them on their next tour... hopefully with all 4 members.
im going to see them, even if i have to travel the whole country to get there.  it would be BLOODY AWESOME even just to see THE jimmy chamberlin and billy corgan! ahhhh im getting excited!!

The only reason I've never seen them is I could never convince anyone I knew to go with me (none of them liked the Pumpkins) and I didn't feel like going alone.
Now I do at least know people who would go with me, so I'm hopeful that I'll get to see them next year.

Same thing happened to me last week. I wanted to go to a Be Your Own Pet concert, but no one I know listens to that band, or indie rock in general. Most of my friends have terrible taste in music. None of them listen to The Smashing Pumpkins.
And seeing as how I live 45 minutes away from downtown Chicago, I am definitley going to try to get tickets for their first show. I'm going to guess that the first reunion show will be at the Metro.

Yeah, me too! I'm going to have to wait till they come to England/Canada, depending where I am at the time. Hopefully I'll be in England, as I'm not totally sure they'd play where I am in Canada (Victoria).
