if MCR suck so bad change the channel like everyone else lol i find it really easy not to listen to bands i am not interested in by simply turning over the tv when they are on only reason ive heard of fall out boy , mcr , that other one..... is because so many people are bitching about them it makes lil old me and poor simple minded fools like me go hmm wats the fuss then i get hooked by the catchness of stolen riffs and men kissing other men *shrugs* must be a phase they will get over it:P *laughs* rant over .

I don't really like the narrow-mindedness/negativity in this thread, I kinda thought better of SP fans. Just because a band is not (at all) to your taste does NOT mean they are the worst band ever, and it's immature and pathetic to assume so.
Now, I hate MCR. A lot. But they're probably good at what they do, and, although I don't think they are interesting or original musically, they are successful, so people like them. Maybe not you, but people do.
I absolutely HATE Fall Out Boy, just for the record.
BUT...and I know a lot of people will hate me for it, but I don't really care, we're all entitled to opinions...I really like Panic. I think they write good, musically interesting/diverse pop songs, and, if you want to listen to pop music, I would recommend their album. I actually quite liked both their Tonight Tonight cover and their Karma Police cover (by Radiohead initially, if you didn't know), and for me, BOTH are among my favourite songs, and untouchable. I admit I cringed when I heard that they'd done them, but, on inspection, they're both good covers. In fact, they both, along with the whole Victoriana image (I love Victoriana, and any band that uses it must have some sort of taste), made me check the band out in the first place.
Haters, tell me you haven't found yourself singing a Panic song after you've heard it a few times...well, even if not, I still think they write good pop songs with interesting instrumentation. May not be to your personal taste, but that doesn't mean they suck.
Peace and love and music, Gabriel

wheres the negativity? *laughs* the thing about sp fans is we are all passionate it doesnt mean they are narrow-minded or negative it just means they are passionate about their opinion and want to get their point across hence why everyones posts are 10 lines long:P
but to hink i or anyone is gonna hate you for your music taste is a bit short sighted now im not actually a hardcore MCR but i have seen them live and ive got two albums i admit Fallout Boy has kinda grown on me but less so panic at the disco.
The reason all these bands have become popular is because there is a market for it someone must be buying the shite that why theres such a flood of new same sounding bands its the same as what happens with the introduction of every new genre. e.g Grunge , Hair metal all that crap :P in my view it doesnt take a talented band to make it big now a days it takes:
dodgey haircut (check)
a decent song to sing along to (check)
the band must engage in kissing one another during their set or videos (no check)
make up( check in the olds days) :P

haha...kissing each other during a video lolz...
They do do that ._.
I like both MCR and Fall out Boy, but I really don't like "Panic!," I can tell they have some talent but they aren't that good live, the singer's voice get's out of tune a lot. Didn't like the Tonite Tonite cover : P
"Listen to the intro to the song "sleep" by MCR. If that's not the biggest rip off of Glass and the Ghost children ever recorded, I'll smack a donkey."
I listened to Sleep again after you posted that and you're right...BUT it was only the intro of it. Once the song progressed there was no similarity.
