i dont understand why we have guest posting enabled??
i understand that people should be able to view information, and updates on the band but why dont we have posting enabled for members only??? its not hard to become a member. wouldnt it help with tools and spammers?

i just posted a reply to that stupid credit card enquiry (didnt touch the links) and now its gone...weird hey?

even if you could let me know murd, why we have it. not many other boards i know do. and we always have so many guests on....ta

Guests were first enabled to post when there wasn't much activity on the forum. I left it enabled because I like sites that don't require registration to leave comments. It may be time to rethink that. As others have noted, this encourages spamming and comments that otherwise wouldn't be here if it weren't for the anonymity.

What does everyone else think?

Guests don't post that much, anyway.

I think that it should be disabled. Just bring it back whenever you need more action in the boards, and then take it away at other times.

I think guest posting should stay, but if someone makes a lot of guest posts then obviously they should be made to crerate an account.

Sometimes you wanna talk about something yopu see on a site in passing but you don't want to register with them, so guest posting is good.

I think it is wrong to enable it to get lots of interest and posters, then abandon the tactic that partially got the site as popular as it is now.

I used to post as a guest, but now spam machines are too frequent on message boards, and it gets annoying, it wouldn't be so bad if there porn links actually worked.

Sad boys with there porno, I think the guests should stay though because someone may have some info that we don't know about and if they have to go through all the trouble of registering just to post one thing they wouldnt want to.

Might as well block guests from posting -- it's going to get really bad once the album comes out and renewed interest in Pumpkins emerges

most of them arnt hurting anyone yeah but i just HATE spammers...its one of those things i just cant get my head around...why god WHY!?

I think its about time we stopped it, it was good to allow them at the start, just to spark discusion, but now, we have plenty of members to keep it going until the impending explosion happens.
