I disagree, I think they are equally bad.

And have you heard the title of the song anyway? "It's not a Scene, it's an Arms Race", which is only slightly ridiculous than their other new single title "The Carpal Tunnel of Love". I'm not making those up, go to iTunes if you don't believe me.

What's a "ray-dee-o"?

i'm curious as to what the average age of the members of this forum is. it seems like everyone here is against any group that came out after the 90s. your suffering from good old day syndrome (everything was better back in my day) if you think all new groups suck and don't listen to the radio. if you actually listened to fallout boy you might come to find out they have talent. same goes for MCR, i don't get how most everyone here can conclude that they suck without listening to them. times change, so does music, so do SP (thankfully), imagine if every album sounded like Gish.

The problem I have with most new music is that it all sounds identical, especially the singers. You either have the gruff Nirvana voice like Nickelback, or you have the nasaly sound that brings to mind Junior High School. I furthermore dislike the production sound that many modern rock bands seem to have—it sounds clean, but in a bad way; it is like comparing the good clarity and cleanliness of a Vermeer to the cheesy cleanliness and realism of a Bob Ross painting. The difference is that a Vermeer is art, and a Bob Ross is a product.

This is not to say I dislike all new music, or that some of the newer bands which I dislike cannot write a song that appeals to me. And it is especially not to say that these people are not talented—Bob Ross was no Vermeer, but the man could paint better than most people. However, his was an inferior product because it lacked that special asthetic that makes it artful. That's my take on many of the newer bands (or the ones that seem to become popular).

I don't listen to the Radio because most music played is mainstream. And most of the time mainstream music is pretty bad, IMO. I'd rather listen to my mp3 player or my stereo.

There is a couple of newer bands that I like (Silversun Pickups, Muse). Thats about it though. And in my opinion ELO beat MCR any day. Oh, and I'm 14.

In my opinion, (not that anybody cares), most of the bands that came after the 90's forgot why they were in a rock band, they didn't learn why the music its more important than just making good videos, and why a kick-ass lyric is more important than a catchy tune, we just had MTV, i don't hate the nowadays bands, in fact i like lots of them, but what's the message you can find in The Strokes? (one of my favourites) its just a very talented empty shell, i mean, the music is great, but there is no important message, there is no connection, there is no philosophy, no many things... i think that's why there are no "Nirvana's" or "U2's" on our generation. if there is gonna be an outstanding band in these day's it gotta be a band with the power to reconnect this "very divided" taste in music, a band who is not afraid of saying things, a band the government is afraid of, a band who tells the truth, do you think the government is scared about MCR?? Coldplay?? i bet Morrison did Scared the crap out of them, even Bono in color sunglasses makes a change, Lennon made people think (and imagine )!!! i just wanna say i love oldies, but i dont hate newbies, i like many songs of many of "new bands" even some of MCR (believe it or not, they dont suck after all) i just think this decade is still missing THE BAND. we tried to kill pop,but we almost killed rock in the process, hope there is a band somewhere to balance this mess we made
