Alright, time to discuss something healthy. Do any of you workout regularly. If so, what is your routine?

I usually try to power walk 4 miles at least 4 times a week and then the other 3 days a week I'll do 50 mins on the resistance bike (28mph). The bike burns some serious calories. I'm not much into weights or anything, but I will do situps most nights.
Also, gotta have the iPod going when I workout.

I try to do 15-30 minutes of yoga daily.

If I dont, I do 20-40 situps a day, or 10 jumping jacks a day.

Eh, thats about it.

today I carried shingles over a house. as opposed to down a hill then up. I can carry two bundles up a ladder at the same time on a bet, a dare or two impress a pretty girl. I do lift weights but not after days like today. doing sit ups try holding 25 pounds on your chest. just remember the second day hurts the worse.

I don't work out regularly. I know I should. I'm on my feet a lot at work and sometimes literally have to run so i think I get plenty of exercise there.
I eat really, really, good though. I love salads, fruits, and veggies and don't eat any meat. I don't really like fast food, or fried food, but I do have a sweet tooth I have to give in to more then I would like.

PopTart, are you a vegan or vegetarian?

I tried that once. And then my meat cravings took control. But I still try to eat a lotta veggies & fruit.

I'm a vegetarian. I could never do the vegan thing: I love my yogurt and cottage cheese too much!
The only exception I make is Sushi. I love my sushi: but good sushi from a nice sushi bar not the icky stuff at the grocery store.

Re: workouts 2 Years, 5 Months ago
I've been blessed with a high metabolism, and so I've never had any problems with weight gain. But even then, I would like to be more physically fit. The biggest problem, though, is motivation. I detest intense physical exertion unless it means I'm working on a project and being productive. The only way I could just step out and arbitrarily start running is if I was perhaps being chased by a wild animal--then it would have a purpose! I just need some way to get "pumped up" (hee hee!) and prospects of my own good health doesn't motivate me very much at all. Does anyone have any suggestions, aside from provoking stray vicious dogs, on how to get motivated enough to do something like, run?

Hahahah...I totally relate with venison. I'm the same way. I'm actually underweight, and though that seems like a god send, it's really not. It hurts to sit sometimes when you have no cushion... But I'm very fortunate nonetheless. I too don't exercise at all, though I really should. My roommate at school always suggests that I go lifting with him, and I always laugh it off... Oh well.

I feel your pain, man. Maybe we should start a support group. We could hold meetings and eat cakes and tarts, and get really fat, and then...problem solved!

I'm the same way. . I'm barely 105 lbs. But, still. . you should exercise to build some mass and tone. . . otherwise you will be too bony and yes, it hurts like hell to sit on a hard chair (PS - there are butt toning exercises that can beef up the muscles and give some cushion).

Also, you could be skinny as a twig and have horrible cholesterol. Thank god my cholesterol is low, probably because I exercise!

Venison - pilates is really good for toning without hard exertion.
