i'm listening to the black parade... and liking it. dear God, why has this happened to me?! forgive me of my sins

I personally love MCR, and didn't like Black Parade when it first came out, as opposed to their older material. I saw them live, and they played the entire tracklist in order, and I then saw how it was meant to be heard. It's a concept album, and good to listen to in order. So now I can listen to the tracks separately and appreciate them much more.
P.S.: They're better live than I thought they would be from youtube videos.

I opposed MCR as well as the Black Parade for a long time, but I caved and finally downloaded it. And to my surprise its actually a good album. So my apologies to the MCR fans I have disrespected in the past.

MCR is one of those bands that I don't mind listening to, but wouldn't go out and buy really. Hell, I might one day if I see the album for 5 bucks or something. And, yeah, don;t let other people dictate what you should listen to. At least it's not Panic.

I did the same, i finally gave in and downloaded black parade, people have been saying lots of good things about it so i thought i would. I listened to the whole thing, open mouthed, the pretentiousness just about suffocated me

I really like that album too. At first, like you, I thought "I shouldn't like this"...but meh. I think a lot of people take it too seriously. Like, what a band represents, what you are supposed to and not supposed to like...I've learnt to just relax a bit, and let myself like what I like. And the black parade is Fun music
However, I don't take them too seriously, still. Like, cancer...that's a stupid song. It's not fun...it's like it wants to be powerfull/heartfelt, or something. It's no disarm, for sure
Oh, and you know what else I'm *really* liking at the moment? Take This To Your Grave (fob). It's very fun. (not to mention...that pete wentz...*swoon*)

I feel about the same way. I really do like MCR's other stuff, but I haven't really given the Black Parade a chance and listened to it. Maybe I'll like it.
Oh and I saw them live right before or just about when everyone started to become obsessed with them and I thought it was a great show too.

i told ya', there use to be a similar post didn't it? they're not that bad, they're actualy a decent band, i mean they're not the next beatles, but there is some good music beneath the make up
