It's like I've seen folks on here trashing MCR but now there is a thread with the same people saying "Oh well I actuallly listened to them and they are OK" so its like - well why did you hate them in the first place? - It's because they are popular.


Yeah, I don't mind MCR, but I'm not rushing out to buy anything of theirs. I still think Nirvana are over-rated, but they are an incredible band. It's more like... ummm, maybe I can explain this with a story:

This guy I know tried to be all punk and suck up to this really huge punk fan at his old school, and the really big punk fan asked him what a good NOFX song was. So this guy went and asked his friend, and his friend purposely told him that "Anarchy in the U.K." was a NOFX song (because he knew that this guy was trying to suck up and look the part). Then he went and told the really huge punk fan, and the huge punk fan gave him all this shit about it.

I laughed at that so much the first time I heard it (you had to be there). It's more that kind of a trend fashion that I mean rather than people hating them because they're popular or something.

Wow - that was a harsh joke to play - even if the guy was posing...but it would have been funny to see! HAHAHA

Hahaha, kind of simmilar, some drunk chick was trying to tell me how much she loved the pumpkins, when i asked her her favourite song she said "Dispite all my rage" haha, fakers make me laugh, usualy when you "love" someone you know at least a little about them

I dont know - maybe the shirt was a gift from a guy who likes the band - or maybe a guys who used to like the band threw the shirt away and a homeless man picked it out of the garbage, or maybe your mom bought you the shirt because she thought it was cool??? HAHAHAHA

I have a small beef with people assuming things because of clothing. IE if I'm wearing a Chicago Cubs baseball cap - maybe I just like the colors and dont necessarily know everything about the team. I hate when people come up to you like in a store and start assuming you're a fan. They will start rambling off stats like "Nice hat, ya know the Cubs are having a great year, did you see that relief pitcher they just drafted from Syracuse, he's gonna lead them in strike outs this year" and I'm like "Dude - I just bought the hat because it was Blue!"

Sorry, it just my petty hate, obviously ours collide haha, why not just by a blue hat?

i have to agree with Dougy for once, l.ol. i think its silly. I know one dude who said you have to know 10 ACDC songs in order to be a fan of them. I went "but they all sound the same, whats the difference if you know the names or not". I think as long as you respect the band and dig one of there songs its pefectly cool with me. If you don't... well then thats a little silly.

Exactly!!! I always take heat for wearing band tee's all the time. People at school say that I'm just wearing trends and that I should wear some "real clothes." They don't get that all the bands I listen to, I know all about them and I know all the words to the songs. It's like my way of wearing a WWJD? braclet. And plus I don't really want to fall into one the vast mountain of labels at school.

He lies a lot, a very lot. I don't think it was that harsh, you shouldn't try to be something your not. It's one of those things where you really should go and find out some of the info by yourself. Look at it this way, instead of trying to suck up to the huge punk fan, he could have asked the punk fan what was some decent punk music that he could really get into.
