So yeah, SP is playing Live Earth. That's cool and all..but is anyone here interested in the idea behind the whole Live Earth concept?

Hell yes! The idea that I find awkward is actual concern for the Earth itself... The collective Earth itself will be fine, and live on. It is us, human beings, that will suffer what we find to be so tragic. Of course there are many other beings apart from humans that will suffer specifically, i.e. polar bears, whales, other endangered and soon to be endangered animals. However, it is mainly our problem, and the risks that global warming brings to modern human civilization and society.

Is humanity realy worth saving? I think not

Awwww, I thought this was going to be a topic on the show Heroes. (Yes, I'm a dork who thought the original poster meant "Save the Cheerleader, save the world."

I would be keen on helping keep earth sustainable. The energy-efficient lightbulb seems a good place to start. But seeming that I live in Southern California and it's been a balmy 100+ degrees lately, I'm not yet eager to "conserve" energy by forgoing my air conditioner.

And if it means Al Gore giving it another go at the presidency, then by all means!

I have an idea - If u dont like the leadership or the way other humans operate...make yourself into a model human being that people can follow. Even if it means you have to die to be different. This is how the world gets heroes like Jesus and Martin Luther King. The world has always been corrupt - but there are people who come along and say "Hey, things don't have to be this way" - but those are the bravest of humans - humans who are not afraid to stand up to the whole world if the whole world is wrong. Humans who are not scared to die for what is right. When we have some more people like that, people who act without fear - then and only then will you see change. The evil people on this earth arent afraid to take what they want by force - good people have to learn to be the same way. A human being must be a protector of earth and of the rights of other human beings. This may require being a warrior and a martyr as well. Most good people just want to live their life with as few problems as possible and this is why the evil people rule this planet. Our society works like this: Evil people do what they want, good people complain and take no action.
