the best music ever 1 Year, 4 Months ago
|
|
well i was just thinking of how zeitgeist doesn't do nothing for me and thought id talk about the body high i get from damm good music. its like some chills over to a feeling like theres water in your veins. refreshing . some tunes that do this to are: various song of the wall, especially the intro, an extended guitar duet by vital remains, and coheed and cambria's solo's and musical breaks...
of course the old pumpkins did this to me almost all the time, from the palm mute riff on bury me to guitars on porcelina, and they still do sometimes, its just to bad zeitgeist doesnt do this.
anybody else got some music that does this to them, the best kind of music

Every pumpkins song bar 'zeitgeist',
all of the cure,
all of placebo bar 'meds',
all of in flames bar 'come clarity',
some coheed and cambria stuff,
'here comes the sun' and 'let it be' by the beatles
Most radiohead
I dont know, i gues most music does that for me

music for me is empowering, especially when i listen to bands like hole, and uplifting especially when i listen to albums like siamese dream. adore can either make me so dreamy and happy or send me into the darkest hole depending on my mood. i do love nirvanas cover of man who sold the world but im a huge bowie fan so obviously i love the original...nirvanas version of 'where did u sleep last night' just makes me want to scream along with it, god, words cant describe how my favourite music makes me feel. its like when your in love, u feel so many different things all at once and its like lust! Its forceful and makes u hungry for more!

Have I told you I love you?
A few goosebump-inspiring moments:
David Bowie, Diamond Dogs, on max volume, when the cheering crowd comes in and he shouts "This ain't rock'n'roll....this is...GENOCIDE!" and then the guitar screeches on. Good stuff.
The chorus on Ruiner by Nine Inch Nails.
The solo on For Martha.
The entire song, The Bed by Lou Reed, just for the sheer creepiness of it all. (this is the place where we used to live/ I payed for it with love and blood/ and these are the boxes that she kept on the shelf/ filled with her poetry and stuff/ and this is the room where she took the razor/ and cut her wrists that strange and fateful night)
"But I'm/ gonna try/ for the kingdom/ if I can/ cause it makes me feel like I'm a man/ when I put a spike into my vein/ and I tell ya things aren't quite the same/ when I'm rushing on my run/ and I feel just like Jesus' son" on Heroin by the Velvet Underground.
I find, though, that many songs can give one goosebumps while listening at high volumes and singing along.

Songs/moments that give me chills:
*Weezer's "Only in Dreams" during the guitar solo when it hits those high, vulnerably whiny notes.
*SP's "By Starlight" - that brief pause and then Billy sings, "AT LAAAAAAAAST." Whoa.
*NA NA NA na na na na HEY JUDE.
*The final creshendo in the last chorus in My Chemical Romance's "The Black Parade." It's huge!
*All of Rainer Maria's "Already Lost." Here's a band that gives emo a good name, fronted by the lovely Kaithlin De Marrais. Voice like an angel. Lyrics like a bleeder.
