Toronto Virgin Fest - who's going? 1 Year, 4 Months ago

Hey gang, was wondering if anyone else who posts here will be attending the Pumpkins' performance at the Toronto Virgin Festival. I'm coming all the way from California by myself for it and was hoping to meet up with some fellow SP fans to go crazy with when they take the stage!

I'm going! I live in Toronto. I came to San Francisco to see the shows on 7/20 7/27 and 7/31. What a great time, it was like Pumpkins Camp. I'm actually still here in SF hanging out. I love this city. I have to go back to Toronto eventually, Film fest and Virgin Fest in September!

Me and my girlfriend are going on Sunday for the Pumpkins. Not exactly looking forward to waiting through the Killers - possibly in the rain - but oh well. It'll be worth it.
I'll be wearing my Zero t-shirt and I've got long blonde hair almost to the base of my spine. Vague description I know but if you want to say Hi, go for it.

pumpkins were amazingggggggggggggggg, to bad the encore wasnt longer, i heard they were going to do muzzle, but it was 10:57, and the park closes at 11, so they played today, the setlist said Starla for the last song, i dont remember them playing starla at all

It was so great. They definitely didn't play Starla. The last song was Heavy Metal Machine wasn't it? It was great no matter what. Glass and the Ghost Children was amazing too.
It was unfortunate that we were located where we were. It was in a nice position but there were so many jerks in front of and behind me and my girlfriend. I don't think I'd go back to an open air/general admission concert again because of that.
The music however, made it all worth it. Anyone know of any boots?

Just got back home from Toronto and sill in awe! The whole time I couldn't stop saying to myself, "I can't believe I'm fucking watching this!" The Pumpkins were incendiary! I was way upfront until Glass and the Ghost Children, which I was so happy they played. Superchrist is my new favorite song and they replaced the lyrics to Heavy Metal Machine with "Resurrection Machine" - v. cool Heavy metal jams = great. To Sheila was a another highlight with a teaser of By Twilight which was so delicate and beautiful that the audience was mesmerized, or at least it seemed that way (and I definitely was). I would have really loved to have heard Starla, as slated, but Virgin fest and the Island are tyrants about timing. I've been to the Mellon Collie, Adore and Machina tours and this was an amazing show!

I was there and it was an amazing show!! They did a cover of Canned Heats On the Road again and a lil' bit of Janis Joplin too (white rabbit i think). I have video from the concert if anyone wants it I'll make a torrent or something. Let me know. I've seen them a bunch of times and this was the most powerful show yet.

united states was so amazing, that song showed every other band why SP was the main event. i was front row, it was so incredible, i have to say the worst part was probably waiting to get on the ferry when the concert was over, so grueling, my body was dead, i was standing at the front for around 10 hours waiting for the pumpkins..

Aw, Blissed, I didn't get your message until today! I didn't check my e-mail all vacation long, sorry.
But man, SP BROUGHT IT, YO. I especially found it cute when Billy busted out a little "Star Spangled Banner" much to the chagrin of the Canadians, so he started playing "Oh Canada" instead.
I cried SO MUCH during Tonight Tonight. And even a little bit during Hummer.
I taped all of the encore of Today. Pardon the wobbliness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG3o46A_vDI
PS - White Rabbit is a Jefferson Airplane song, not Janis Joplin.

Hey Trillian,
Glad you enjoyed the show. WOW! you were really upfront there. I was likely about 20 or so people behind you. Sorry we couldn't meet up, but I ended up having an interesting night.
