Tom DeLonge

Mark Hoppus

The guys from blink-182, those guys are great. Other than Smashing Pumpkins, blink-182 is my favorite band. There last album is amazing!!! I wish they wouldn't have broken up...

The guys from Jimmy Eat World are really down to earth too...

i always love to hear interviews with lead singers of different bands that are actually intelectual. I'm not a fan of Marilyn Manson but he's very intelligent, or so he seems in interviews. Others include David Draiman of Disturbed and the lead singer of Third Eye Blind. (Something Jenkins, maybe Steve? haha)

Bloc Party is a great band and I think their lead singer Kele Okereke is more of an intellectual type from the way he talks. He is also a great song writer.

*pets the band* I think they are the prettiest group of men out there today. YUM.

Also a hearty thumbs up to the people who posted Bowie, Bellamy and Beatles pics.

I vote another person: Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill/Le Tigre. Feisty, feminist, brilliant lyrics, never afraid to be herself.

I used to be a HYOOGE fan of blink-182, but then I discovered real music.

I still like them, just not as much. I wouldn't go so far as to say that they are great personalities in music.

Used to be the same with Green Day. Except now they irritate me very much.

I will stab the next person that posts a picture of anyone from My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, or Panic! at the Disco.

You got lucky with blink.

Now HERE are some great influential people who haven't (afaicr) been mentioned.

Geek NZ, surprised you didn't mention Crowded House, they're a great aussie band lol (had to haha), but as Robertedge said, Something FOr Kate are an amazing band with unique voice, great guitar riffs and the bassist is a girl too! So many comparisons to SP, except they're unique in their own way

Another few great bands from Australia include:
- The Living End who are sort of jangly technical punk with talented and down-to-earth musicians ... the singer plays awesome solos on his Gretsch while standing on their bass players double bass they're really cool ... check out Wake Up, elements of Floyd, Cure, and Clash

- Silverchair, great band live their song Freak is mad, best album to me is Diorama, one of my fav's ... there new one Young Modern is a bit so so...

- Grinspoon - hard rock band with an occasional acoustic side also sometimes along the lines of Blink 182
- John Butler Trio - hippy-lookin (and you could say sounding) environmentalist with cool laid-back tunes, bit funky, Ben Harperish

Can't go without plugging myself haha
