Have you gotten into any bands recently... 3 Months, 1 Week ago
... while you're waiting for the next Pumpkins release?

I'm pretty hot for Sigur Ros at the moment. Amazing music.

Also Sonic Youth, man they are fucked up...

Eh, Sigur Ros is decent, but ambient noise really doesn't do it for me. And I tired to get into My Morning Jacket, but just couldn't. For some reason I really liked the new Jimmy Eat World cd.

It's not as ambient as some ambient artists are.

Number 3 on ( ) gives me the heebie-jeebies. I wish it would last forever...

For this type of music I like Explosions in the Sky better. I knew of them before they went on tour with SP, but I rediscovered them because of it.

I love Sonic Youth.
I recently started listening to Bauhaus. I've never really listened to them before, but I really like them. They are like Sonic Youth's gothic cousin. ha
I have also been listening to some newer stuff like Pin Me Down, a Bloc Party related side project.
I'm kind of Pumpkined-out to be honest. I need a bit of a shift right now.

I know what you mean, blue.

I've listened to Radiohead for quite a while now, not much longer than Pumpkins, and I've been listening to them lots lately too. But I'm not really "getting" into them, because I'm "already" into them :P

I've also been getting into a bit of NIN. But I'm a bit of a NIN n00b, or virgin even, when it comes to their music. It seems a lot of Pumpkinheads are Nailheads too.

I've vaugly heard of Bauhaus.. What albums would you recommend?

I don't have any Bauhaus albums to recommend yet. I just downloaded some random songs like Bela Lugosi's Dead and Dark Entries. They sound really cool though. I'm going to get a Bauhaus album this week I think. If you like SY, you will probably like them though, so check them out.

I have Daydream Nation, Goo, Dirty, Rather Ripped, and SY's self-titled first album. Goo and their first album are my favorites though. I just love how they sound.

I have been listening to Joy Division lately too. I guess I'm in the mood for older stuff or something.

I know what you mean with Radiohead though. I like them too, but I just want something new to my ears. None of my old faves are appealing to me now really.

I just need something totally new to get into.

After learning about Clapping Music in music recently, I found this... which led to this...

How about that carpenter's piece, eh?

I quite like diRty the most, not much more than Daydream Nation, and then Goo. But that's probably because I've heard Goo for the longest, I burnt it from my sister, and I bought DN and diRty recently.

I'm listening to Daydream Nation right now, it's so wild....

I've had a yearning for new music lately.

ESPECIALLY BY SIGUR ROS! Gawd, I can't find anything by them...

Sonic Youth i really want more of, i can see myself getting into their other stuff, i only have Daydream Nation ... i love the opening chords in Candle, such amazing dreamy chords i want to use them! Its such a shambolic furiuos then mellow peaceful weirdness attack that i love so much

Recently been getting into A Perfect Circle's Emotive and Thirteenth Step which are awesome, Emotive is such a relevant album, full of the best anti-war cover songs but Passive, the only song they wrote on the album is a real standout for me.

Radiohead i need more of too, OK Computer is timeless and The Bends is great, the new one is cool but doesn't quite have the perfect touch, i like it but don't love it..

The Ting Tings are the one band that I've really discovered lately. They're incredibly fun and cheeky.

i_am_juan, I reckon if you heard Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief you would appreciate In Rainbows much more.

They are quite hard to get into, but be patient. Force yourself to listen to them start to finish and you will fall in love with them.

In the Violet Hill thread I noticed there are some Coldplay haters in here, but I don't care. I can't wait for Viva La Vida to be released. I have it on pre-order and can't wait to get it.
I think I'm going to go listen to Kid A now though. I haven't heard it in a while.

I do need to get some more Radiohead albums, one of my friends said i have to. I have gotten into Radiohead, atm i'm listening to OK Computer, but In Rainbows, i really like but i haven't 'gotten into' it. There is some great songs on the album but it isn't quite as solid as some of their other stuff if you get what i mean.
