Well I'm going to crack out the Dreamcast & Kill zombies in The House of the Dead II, I wonder if the Dreamcast didn't die what things wood of been like???

the dreamcast was badass, i think it was the first system with those graphics. i had one, but after i put it away for a month or two, the controller mysteriously didnt work. so i bought a new one and it still didnt work, so i bought a new core system, and it worked, then again after not playing it for a while, the controller didnt work. i think they were defective or something

sega rocks arcade games, i bet they woulda had guns and shit for this gen or consoles, if they were still around.

What happened? Capitalist competition!

it had soooooooo much potential though

it did have a lot of potential, and for a month, it was on top of the gaming world. But then PS2 and XBox happened and blew it out of the water.

well see, that's the thing..it wasn't really "on top of the gaming world". it SHOULD have been, but because Sega pulled a damn stupid stunt, it wasn't.

The Dreamcast launch was a surprise. No, not a "hey look we're launching a new console next month" surprise, a "hey everybody, we're launching a console TODAY" surprise.

They announced the console on the day of launch, meaning that nobody had fair warning. NOBODY. This includes all of the third party developers that make the world go round. Therefore, the 5 very mediocre launch titles (from Sega) were the only titles for months. Not only that, you couldn't find a dreamcast anywhere anyways, even with it's hefty price tag.

I wish sega hadn't been so stupid about the whole thing, or we'd probably have a next-gen console from them too, and I would have bought it.

Unfortunately, their downfall really kinda started with the Saturn, then ENDED with the dreamcast.
