I don't like all of their albums but I find Weezer to be quite hilarious. I really liked their first album and, another which I forgot what its called, but I'm a sucker for 90's fuzz guitar.

Oh and The Sweater Song always puts me in a good mood.

As far as the new single, great video, and the song was pretty cool just not as memorable as others.

It's going to be an epic article, hehe.

As for what I asked him, I unfortunately got nervous and stuck to a lot of the mumbo jumbo they've been asked incessantly about this particular record: How was it decided to have everyone sing lead vocals, what's up with the Hootenanny, why have Rubin and Jacknife Lee produce, what was it like filming the Pork and Beans vid.

BUT at least I won points with Brian because I told him I liked his lead vocals on the old demo Yellow Camero. And I asked him whether he and the other guys are involved with Rivers' "Let's Write a Sawng" thing on YouTube, and I could tell he was pissed off about the project, probably thinking, "Why does he need the public's help writing a song when he's got his bandmates right here?"

And, oh, the interview was done over the phone on my lunch break, haha.

looking forward to seeing the article!

Freaking love the sweater song..funny as anything. Well OK not anything but still funny.

I just heard that Weezer is giving a free concert this coming Tuesday in Phoenix. Thought this might be the place to post the news for anyone that is going to be in the Phoenix area, and has an interest in seeing Weezer. The catch is that you have to win tickets, the way to do that is by listening to 103.9 and when ever a Weezer song plays you have to be the 9th caller.

And on to our regularly scheduled programing...

The article will be on the cover of Mean Street magazine next month. I'll link you guys to the online version once it's up.

In my opinion, The Red Album is one of the worst albums I've heard in a long time (but keep in my mind I only tend to listen to albums I think I might like).

Musically it's hit and miss. There's never anything special on there, but the guitars chug along nicely at times. Lyrically though it is just amazingly bad, I could hardly believe the garbage I was hearing.

So, for me, Weezer's worst album, though I haven't bought any of their CDs since the Green Album (which is by far my favourite Weezer release).

So, my interview with Brian Bell is up: http://meanstreet.com/article.php?article_id=670&issue_id=122

Also, if you have time, I did the 10 Years story, too.

Very very cool. The best thing is that I can tell from the article that you were already a huge Weez fan, and know your stuff!

Thanks, Rivers! And yeah, I totally was/am/always will be a huge fan. Brian was actually shocked to hear that I had heard old demos from in between Green and Maladroit, like "Yellow Camero," hehe.
