i dont get why people think facebook is one of those profile sites. its not really. i like it cause when you sign on it shows a list of new things on all of your friends' pages. new pictures and whatnot. really the only people you meet on there are people you already know, cause theres a snazzy little info box that shows people you might know based on friends in common or networks your in (same town, school). theres this funny little application called "neechie gifts" neechie being a racist term for native people, and the gifts are like pack of smokes, tipi, dances with wolves dvd, ernest monias cd. i only got a few of them so far. the ernest monias cd made me lol cause the week before i got it my dad went to his concert. the author of that app really knows his stuff. lol

Facebook was cool 5 years ago when it was only available to college students. Plus not all universities had it, so it was only at the major schools. When they let all the other douche bags in, it went down hill.

Myspace was cool at first, but should have stayed more music oriented. I was big into the local music scene a few years ago and it was a great way to keep in touch with all the good bands.

Needless to say, I deleted by my accounts when I graduated college. This is the only "social network" I need.

How can something be in a "local scene" when it's a website available to the entire world ?

MySpace isn't my cup of tea.

But that's probably because just about everyone I know has Bebo, so it's just more useful to me. If everyone I knew was on MySpace, I'd join that instead.

i have a myspace page but i rarley go to it, when i do it is to check on friends music, or to see what comments people have left me. i try to leave really funny comments and that is about it.

Neither. Both were developed independently. Frankly, I like Facebook better because you can more easily customize it, it has some neat "applications" (I'm quite addicted to this game based on the Heroes TV show) and you're much less likely to find trolls and spammers on there than MySpace.

Although, MySpace still wins when it comes to music.

I use MySpace almost exclusively for keeping informed about bands I like. And for that it's pretty much indispensible.

I use Facebook quite allot now (BTW sent you a friend invite Trillian we should start a pumpkin net group LOL)
I also like killing time with the little quizzes and when im really bored having some fights with my Vampire...LOL
