So, as the title requests, say what your favourite albums of 2007 were - have to be albums released that year, not including re-releases of older albums. Hope this wasn't already done, but even it was, there are new members now and we've all had longer to digest the albums of last year.
Here are mine, in order from best to... least best:
1. The Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist (ideally the silver version with 15 tracks)
2. Machine Head - The Blackening
3. Chuck Ragan - Feast or Famine
4. Dropkick Murphys - The Meanest of Times
5. Down - Over the Under
6. Tiger Army - Music From Regions Beyond
7. The Unseen - Internal Salvation
8. Static-X - Cannibal
9. Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet
10. BibleCodeSundays - Boots or no Boots
There are other decent albums I got that year, such as New Wave by Against Me, Act II: The Blood And The Life Eternal by Neverending White Lights and Threads of Life by Shadows Fall, but I think those are my top 10.

Ah, maybe I'm just showing that I buy too many CDs then. I bought over 20 last year that came out that year plus even more that were released in previous years
I sometimes forget that not everyone is as music obsessed.

Oh, if I had the money, I would have about as many albums as you...
By the way, how many albums do you have? Bought albums and burnt albums put together, I have about 300 give or take, but most are burnt.
That's what I meant by "if I had the money"

I have quite a few that i like from last year:
*Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace
*Angus and Julia Stone - A Book Like This (absolutely awesome acoustic folk-pop album, i love it)
*Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
*Powderfinger - Dream Days at the Hotel Existence (best album of the year in my mind)
*Silverchair - Young Modern (saw them and Powderfinger play on a double bill, amazing...)
*Radiohead - In Rainbows (can't wait till they come down to Oz, i have to go see them)
*The John Butler Trio - Grand National
*The White Stripes - Icky Thump (i haven't gotten into it as much as i thought i would though, more of a sticky one)
*Paulo Nutini - These Streets
and last but not least *Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist
Thats my top 10
Worst and most annoying album of the year:
Fall Out Boy - Infinity on High
I HATE IT!!! Who names a f***ing song "thnks fr th mmrs"!?!

i_am_juan has a reasonably good taste but I have to make the following points clear as I feel rather strongly about them:
1. Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace was alright, but really quite plain, particularly in contrast with the rest of the Foo Fighters catalogue.
2. Silverchair should be shot. They have surrendered to commercialism in order to become popular and wealthy, sacrificing any credibility they ever had. They are a textbook example of what the evils of commercialism are doing to the music industry- turning music into a cash-making formula.
Sorry if that's a bit extreme but that's how I feel about where we're all headed at the present time. I haven't thought much of 2007 to be honest. Instead I've been busy delving into the depths of all the stuff I missed out on in the '90s when I was too young to appreciate music.
Also, I must say that i_am_juan is definitely correct about Fall Out Boy.

Sadly i'd have to almost agree with you, Foo's latest album could be any of their albums, as much as i like it and think its great its no real change from the past.
Silverchair, they changed for sure but i'm not entirely fussed with the direction some of their new stuff is going. In a way they have gone a bit commercialist but how the hell can some of the songs off their last album be commercial? Some of them are verging on being dissonant and when did pop ever like dissonance?
Popular (not meaning pop but music you can hear everywhere) music has gone to shit and may never grow out of it. Underground is where the good stuff is, where talent still comes first.
I wish i was born before the 90's so i'd have been able to have been around to experience the music then, rather than buying an album ie Badmotorfinger and going "man i love this, i wanna go see Soundgarden... oh wait they're not around anymore."
Pop = Shit ... once a day i go pop, then i say "hang on was that faecal matter or did i just hear a new song?" It's all the same...

I have about 600 or slightly more bought albums. I don't really have any burnt albums, other than compilations of b-sides etc that I've made.

Yeah. That's why I'd be so upset if bands stopped putting out CDs. What would I do with myself??

Epitome - The Tiger Army and Chuck Ragan albums were great! Good choices!
My top ten of 2007, in no particular order, except for No. 1:
M.I.A. - Kala
Tiger Army - From Regions Beyond
Bloc Party - A Weekend in the City
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Gogol Bordello - Super Taranta!
Straylight Run - The Needles The Space
Bright Eyes - Cassadaga
Uh ... *checks Zune*
Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
I'm totally drawing a blank here. I mean, there were some albums I liked but not enough to put them in the top 10 (Bjork's Volta, Zeitgeist, Coheed and Cambria's No World for Tomorrow.) I wish I could find my Top Ten List that was printed in Mean Street magazine.
