Most precious music memorabilia 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago
What music-related items do you own that you cherish the most?

For me I'd say:
TAFH boxset - it's sooo purty!

Amen - Join or Die - a CD limited to 4000 copies I believe.

Amen/Casey Chaos - Pisstory - a 4 CD set of rarities from Casey Chaos, mainly with Amen but also with his previous band. Limited to 2500.

A lyrics sheet by Dodgy, signed by the lead singer, which I have framed and put on the wall.

The booklet version of Zeitgeist. It looks cool and it's by my favourite band. Might not seem all that special right now, but in time I think people will appreciate it more.

I then have various signed CDs, which I suppose are more special to me than most of my CDs for that reason.

Oh, and MCIS simply because it's my favourite album!

I think that's about it - if I left anything out then I suppose that means I don't cherish it that much anyway

edit:
Oh, and I did forget something - I have 2 limited edition Porcupine Tree albums (Lightbulb Sun and Stupid Dream) which come with the album on CD and mastered in 5.1 surround sound on DVD - perfect for my 5.1 ears.
Not really special, but kinda cool. I feel bad for forgetting them, but I hugged them so it should be ok. To be honest I might have hugged them for slightly longer than a grown man should hug a CD.

I don't really have anything limited edition or anything like that.. Probably my TAFH boxset, and that's it. If I had any vinyl of my own, that would be my most precious item.

I want to get a split single that has a local band on it that I have recently got into, called The Enright House. I'm listening to it now it's dreamy...

It's only ten dollars on TradeMe, I'm going to get it sooner or later.

Oh, and it's clear see-through vinyl, too!

I have a few of "my precious"...

- a Foo Fighters setlist handwritten by Dave Grohl from a secret show they did at The Metro (Sydney, Australia, not Chicago)

- a Foo Fighters pick that my good buddy Jackson caught/picked up from the moshpit for me + one for him

- a Floor Tom Drumhead (Remo) signed by all the members of Australian metal/rock band Grinspoon and says "To Joel, Rock On!" (so cool )

- random drumsticks from bands that i don't know that my uncle picked up for me when he worked at Metro (previously mentioned)

- my "precious" posters, still not framed, still as they were when i got them:
- Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie Poster (James with the harp-guitar and the moon with the creepy face one)
- a Foo Fighters current tour poster with evil looking eagle, and
- Chili Peppers tour poster from a Florida tour with Snoop Dog i think that i got off eBay.

- the posters on my walls:
- You Am I - Cream and the Crock poster
- my uncles ex-band Brat's poster signed by them all (they did a tour supporting Blondie then he left them cause he thought he was "selling out"
- Radio Birdman poster
- Splendour in the Grass poster
- The Presets first album tour poster
- Smoking Guns poster... still don't know who they are

- my concert tickets, badges, t-shirts, etc

- original 1st release of Nirvana's Nevermind (without hidden track)

- Suzi Quattro signed poster/record sleeve - "to kylie" ... its my uncle's but its been on my wall long enough lol

What i had that my uncle took back

- Signed White Stripes White Blood Cells Australian tour poster. By Meg White and Jack White III.

- Signed The Hives Tyrannosaurous Hives Australian tour poster by the whole band.

I also had the seed of an avocado that Dave Grohl was eating and my dad germinated it and the tree started to grow until it was eaten by birds and animanls. I wanted to sell Dave Grohl avocados lol...

Think thats it

The absolute most precious music memorbilia to me is the audio cassette of me interviewing Billy Corgan in 2005.

I have a ton of promotional use only CDs, but that's just because of my job as a writer. I'm not big into collectors edition albums, but I of course have TAFH and such.

I've got some bitchen signed CDs, including from ...

Weezer
Garbage
Fiona Apple
Tiger Army
Jimmy Chamberlin
The Donnas

I also like to collect the magazines with my stories on the covers (Gorillaz, Rainer Maria, Interpol, Decemberists, Coheed and Cambria, Weezer, Ozomatli, Panic at the Disco) and I've had a couple musicians sign my articles (Thursday, Jack's Mannequin.)

And there are the bragworthy pictures I've taken with bands (see my Facebook page for those!)

LUCKY.

I have a few pumpkin posters that I got from their residency at The Fillmore. Oh and one poster I found from Infinite Sadness tour in 96 in Vancouver B.C.-the band's on it minus Jimmy.

I have a setlist from a Serj Tankian show that has some markings on it.

Not much.

Oh wait. I have a really ghetto SP bootleg that I got on the black market in the mid east. The guy said it had "BOOT-LET VIT FLY VINGS" on it. Oh man, I got ripped off but it was so funny hearing him pronounce song titles.

Should I get ambitious this coming weekend, I'll write up a transcript. (Murder, think we might be able to upload it to this website for all to enjoy, once I get around to doing it?) It was a great interview. We talked a lot about the solo album, the demise of Zwan, and cooler fanatic stuff like the fate of GATMOG.

It was for Mean Street magazine. You can read the article here: http://meanstreet.com/article.php?article_id=368&issue_id=85

i barely got any momorabilia.
I just have all there studio albums.

i gues the rareist thing I have is Still Becoming Apart but thats not even really rare.

But I guess my most precious memorabilia would have to be the Zeitgeist flag I got because it was my first pumpkins concert and i will always remember that night.
