Oh yeah Bullet, it really works.
But make sure you pronounce it correctly, because occasionally my parents would shout something in English and it would sound so funny because of their accents that I'd burst out laughing at them.
Zer0-I feel your pain. I worked at a retail store when I was 18, it was horrible. Everyone and their mother would ask me questions as if my father owned the store. Oi, did I get nightmares from that.

Right, but honking your horn almost immediately as the light turns green is a little annoying. If you can't wait the 2 seconds for the car to accelerate you need to switch to decaf.
I agree with that!
I work in retail and the thing that bothers me is when customers come in and approach me while talking on their cell phone and expect me to help them while they are speaking to someone else! I mean, come on! Can't you call them back or put them on hold?

My biggest peeve at the moment:
Customers.
I work in retail, everyday I get the rudest most insincere customers who come up to me and treat me like garbage. It's like, because I work there and I'm supposed to serve them must mean I'm not an actual human being, people can just walk all over me if they want.
Customer service would be so much better without customers.
OMG- i feel your pain. i worked retail for 4 years and wanted to kill every customer who came through the door. i HATE retail and am so glad i'm out of it now. when people shop they truly are the rudest bastards ever- tearing apart racks and tables, trying to rip off the store, asking dumb questions, getting pissed at you for stuff you have nothing to do with, not leaving at closing time, coming through the door in the first place...
i must admit i was rude back though. i would throw barbs back at the rude ones and the dumb ones who pissed me off. i'm lucky i wasn't fired at my last job. i have even swore at customers. i can't take retail though. i just hate it. i have no patience or tolerance for the crap that goes on- in case you can't tell.
oh, and another thing that pissed me off- credit apps. i hate it when retail stores try to force associates to push store credit cards and give you a quota for each month. at my old job the person who tried to get us to get them was a total bitch. she thought if she harassed and threatened us we would get them. i was always just like "screw you" though. i refused to get any especially when i knew i was about to quit for my new job.

It sucks.
I speak three languages, and two of them are useless.

Oh God you just cited just about everything I hate about my work. I've only been in retail for three-months or so, but I don't think it'll be long before I'm hurling abuse and profanity at the customers either.

Zer0, your picture in the photo album thread reminded me of this.
I have a friend, who has never really been into girls, and he went out with our friend earlier this year. They broke up not long after though, and it's kind of stunted him a bit. His motive in life is definitely a lot more slack, which is surprising for him. He claims that he's over her, but I really don't think so.
Today he left school halfway through the day and turned up at the end of lunch drunk, with dried mud all over the bottom of his jeans and shoes. Apparently that happened when he was in town with our mate, by the river, SOBER.
His explanation for why he drank was this "Apparently [name suppressed] is going out with someone, and I'm totally over her, I swear! But *something* inside of me just sparked, and blah blah blah..."
Drunken wanker.
Yeah, so that's what's grinding my gears these days.

In a way Geek, I could misinterperet that as you calling me a drunken wanker. Hahaha, don't worry, I know people like that too and people who spread rumours. They also grind my gears.

you need to get out if you can. retail sucks. its fuckin' torture really and you do eventually start getting short tempered with customers (some faster than others ). i'm not advocating quitting, but i would keep my eyes peeled for a new job.

TOTALLY! I worked at Target for about four months in 2002. The boss was so uppity about meeting those credit card quotas. I'm sorry, but if I don't believe in a product (I'm anti-credit card), I'm not going to push it onto others. So the one person I actually convinced to sign up ... turned out to be an illegal immigrant, hahahaha.
