Re:What is your other favourite/second favourite b 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
this is amazingly hard. as some of you have said, for me its sp in their own category and then a lot of bands who come in second. so ill just list a few of the ones who i consider my "favorite bands"
coheed and cambria, radiohead, nine inch nails, foo fighters, local h, silverchair, the who, yeah yeah yeah's, pearl jam, black sabbath, the frames.
these are pretty much the bands that i follow the most.
and i will add that a new friend recently turned me on to muse. they arent a favorite yet, but i think they could definitely grow on me.

For me I always consider Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Siouxsie & the Banshees as my all-time favs. It's rare that I would consider putting another band into that roster, but it does happen sporadically. There are times when I spend more time than I should listening to Mew, Alice in Chains, The Cure, Failure, Tegan & Sara........blah blah there are others but it's almost 2am over here and I think I've already named enough bands. Peace!!

Wow, this is pretty interesting! I am definitely alone in my taste, as far as I can tell...
Let's see, this would be the current order:
1. Smashing Pumpkins
2. AIR
3. Happy End
4. Enigma
5. Hamza el Din
6. Flower Travellin' Band
7. LOW
8. Ben Kamen
Has anyone heard the new Enigma stuff? I'm really looking forward to it! As far as I know, the single will be different from the album version of "Seven Lives", similar to "Hello and Welcome" was for A Posteriori.
Anyway, Muse is one band I simply cannot get into. I just don't find anything by them too interesting! (That's just me, as I know plenty who are enthused by them...)
Well, I really like a lot of Kevin Shields solo work (He's the founder and singer for My Bloody Valentine.) Though, I can say that apart from a few songs from MBV, the rest of their stuff I heard was hard to get through. They were definitely pioneers for their time, but there has been some evolution.
And, lastly, Ben Kamen is a friend of mine from my hometown!

Hmmm. I don’t think I ever posted in this thread. To even put any other band in the same category as the Pumpkins would be unfair, because the Pumpkins are head and shoulders above any other band for me. Plus I don’t follow any other bands like I do the Pumpkins.
Others I enjoy:
Led Zeppelin
Tool/A Perfect Circle
Starkz (a local band that I became friends with; but the broke up recently)
Nine Inch Nails
Pink Floyd
John Mayer
(rediscovering) Metallica
Pearl Jam
some Radiohead
I have a ton of music, but I have all these artist albums. I’m sure I’ll think of more later.
Re:What is your other favourite/second favourite band 3 Months ago
I like Muse alot. But I think Pumpkins come first. This is a Pumpkins forums, so I think it'd be pointless to get a Pumpkins avatar. That explains my Muse avatar, hehe.
Re:What is your other favourite/second favourite band 3 Months ago
dredg... Sigur Rós... and,er, you know, that one band from Canada with that one guy who has that thing on his head and that voice... No, I don't mean Gwar. But I don't listen to them that much anymore. Oh, yes, and Porcupine Tree.
And if I forget to mention Aphex Twin, you should lynch me. And Meshuggah of course. Einstürzende Neubauten. (Does the server show the ü? Does it? Of course it's not Einsturzende Neubauten nor Einstuerzende Neubauten. Whatever)
