get addicted to siamese dream, start wanting more, get MCIS listen to it forever, still want more, get the other albums, then find out about demos and other live versions everywhere and become an obsessively crazed pumpkin head like me

The order I actually got started was...

Heard a song on the radio... Zero, I think.
Then borrowed MCIS from my brother, and I loved it.
Went to store and bought Gish, loved it.
Bought MCIS at discount store...
Bought TAFH box set...
Then bought Adore when it came out.
Quickly bought Siamese Dream, then Pisces.
Bought Machina, found Machina II and all other b-sides online...

I have so many damn songs of theirs (live and studio), I barely know what to do with them, ha.

Actually i didn't like Billy's voice at the beginning, but i just ignored that since the rest of the music was so good. But now i think he has cool voice :S

as with many bands that i now love, i HATED the sp. well billy anyway. i was a hardcore (lol) Hole fan and thought that if clove hated someone so did i. so it wsnt til like 99 that i gave them a real go, i had adore on tape from a cousin and didnt give it much of a listen (its my favourite album EVER now not just fav sp) which was stupid of me, then one day my friend mitchell was telling me more about them and i respected his taste in music alot, so i went and bought siamese dream, LOVED IT, and have never turned back. hole were my fav band for years now its the pumpkins! but i still thank clove for most of my taste in music..

Hey, so finally I'm posting a proper intro.

Hello, my name is Melissa and for 12 years I've been a Pumpkins-aholic. First got hooked by seeing BWBW on MTV (I thought Jimmy was hot! Hehe.) Siamese Dream saved my life (my favorite SP song still remains "Mayonaise." I'm a former member of the Southern California Smashing Pumpkins Fan Club -about 100 of us used to meet monthly around SoCal at amusement parks, the beach, parties, etc and wore our SP shirts with pride (the club kind of fell apart in 2003 after Zwan's breakup but I remain best friends with many of the members ... although I think I'm really the only hardcore Pumpkins fan left.)

I'm a music journalist and have had the great pleasure of interviewing on separate occasions Jimmy and Ginger over the phone and Billy IN PERSON. (Needless to say, that was one of the happiest days of my life.) I caught SP in concert before the breakup twice - never the original lineup though, doh! Zwan six times and Billy solo once. And I'm seeing the new SP in Toronto! wheeeee!

well, a friend who attends the same camp i do told me to check out a song called geek usa. i then bought (in order) mellon collie, siamese dream, earphoria, gish, pisces iscariot, adore, machina. yeah, strange order. anyway, i'm a pumpkins fanatic and if i go too long without listening to them i get a little looney...

Here's my story-
I was in high school when Siamese Dream came out. I borrowed the cassete from a friend of mine and copied it because I loved Today. Well, needless to say I completely wore it out because I couldn't get enough it! Later on I heard BWBW and 1979 and I got MCIS and it stayed in my CD player for like, ever. I got away from them for a while, sad to say, and my interests went elsewhere. Then two years ago I heard Cherub Rock on the radio and it made me miss it terribly. I went out and got Rotten Apples, fell in love with Eye and Ava Adore and Perfect. So I bought Adore. It was at that point I went from a casual fan to a true FANATIC!! Since then I've bought Siamese Dream(on cassete for sentimental reasons, but I have it on CD too.) Gish, Pisces, Lull, Machina, TAFH, Zeitgeist(silver and red)and I have downloaded everything I can possibly find. I am so obsessed now that I can hardly get through the day w/o it!
