Nature 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
This morning I went for my morning walk which is always amazing. Great exercise, lovely surroundings and just the energy of nature at a point it seems that I always get lost in my thoughts and dreams.

Something amazing always seems to happen on the walks and so I take my camera and have it at the ready, usually, so that I can share the beauty and amazement of the moment with others. Well this was not one of those times *laugh*.

It started out bright though, a bit of a cool breeze a flurry of finch like little birds with yellow tummies flitting around playing and singing (these guys are regulars so always a good start to the walk). I know how I can go on and on so I’m going to rein myself in and share the coolest part of the walk with you guys.

I was on the last leg of the walk and this is the part that I’m kind of on automatic pilot with my mind working on whatever it needs to work on and my skin and senses soaking in the environment. So I didn’t realize that I was at the hummingbird place.

This is an amazing little place with trees and the most amazing colors popping out from the green leaves and plants and I have my hummingbird meeting daily, I call it that because it seems that a hummingbird is always there as I’m coming through and we spend a few minutes. Him making his way through the flowers and me making my way back home as we both move on to the rest of our day.

Well today I was really in my own little world and barreling through there like there was no tomorrow and at the same moment my mind went to slow down you don’t want to frighten the little guy away it was too late (or so I thought) because I was at a bright pink flowing bush that we usually start our trek at and he was flitting off to a tree a few feet away..it took me a couple of seconds to stop and I was just past the bush and he flitted a bit in the tree...and I was thinking what a goofo I was. But I stood there and watched him for a minute...those little guys are amazing!

When what do I hear by my right ear but a vhhhhhhhhht...the first time I didn’t take notice but then there it was again vhhhhht so I slowly turned my head and there was another humming bird flitting around the bush not 4 inches from me. I’m watching it and then there is the other humming bird so they are both there communicating with one another, they touch beaks (I kid you not) they flit for a couple more seconds and then they fly off into the world! How amazing is that! I really really wish I had my camera on me to share that experience.

So I floated on home knowing that no matter what was going on in the world that all was as it should be and life is a series of experiences that lead us to where we are going.

*laugh* If you can’t tell I love nature...any of you guys have any cool nature experiences to share?

I too have a nice walk that I take every now and again. There is a nature trail that runs for a mile or so right next to my house, and it's pretty secluded that it's never overrun with people.

It's really beautiful, though I can only remember seeing a humming bird once around this area, and that was in my backyard. It doesn't seem like they're too common here in Western Washington.

I've taken so many pictures of the years of that trail! I really love walking it. Pure magic, and I too get lost in my own little world.

=D

nice story... not so much a nature walk, but when I was young at my grandmother's house she had a flowering bush and there were hummingbirds in the flowers and I remember just sitting there watching it being amazed at how fast the wings flutter and it just stays put in the place it needs to be...they loved what ever bush it was.. she lived in Tacoma, WA and had a palm tree in her yard..that was my favorite tree besides the white birch she had and the goldfish pond...surrounded by a garden with a few garden gnomes

awesome picture!!
The fall colors are just beautiful right now, but it's raining and windy so the leaves are falling like crazy. I hope the tree out front stays full so when the sun shines sometime this week I can take a picture of it...
