Well, I know you don't really like My Chemical Romance, but their sound has grown on my a little. I have noticed that the term "sell out" is just a stupid fraze. They have people do their thinking for them sometimes like on videos, who cares. A lot of their songs are actually good, emo is a decent genre and deserves a chance. WELL WITH THAT SAID...

Their first album (I think...) was Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.
SP's first album was Gish.
Gerard had long hair for the first album
Billy had long hair for the first album.

MCR's second album (I think...) was "I Brought you my Bullets" or something like that.
SP's second album was Siamese Dream.
Gerard started to cut his hair shorter.
Billy had short hair.

MCR's third album is coming up really soon ("The Black Parade"
SP's third album was Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

haha. I've always thought they were a rip off...not musically but with the whole image thing and its not only them but it seems like everyone is making the video where the guy wears the top hot and the old school suit and the chicks are all elizibethan whores. It was a wonderful idea when the pumpkins did it several times but now its just getting stupid.

I heard a guy say on the radio in response to the pumpkins reuniting "who needs the Smashing Pumpkins anymore, we have My Chemical Romance!"

my chemical romace, hmm, they are alright, from what i heared, great sing along songs, like my motto "every once in awhile your in the mood for a good pop song", i dont really think they are like the smashing pumpkins, but what do i know, i only heared theyre singles, which we all arent really representive of the bands, but today, i wouldnt be surprised to see "My Chemical Romance, with special guests The Smashing Pumpkins" I am laughing out loud.


EDIT: OK i just listened to a few of their songs, i guess for this band the singles do represent the band to a tee, i dont like them though, theyre strengths are in the singing and lyrics, which isnt the kind of music i like, but i can respect this band "singing songs that make you slit your wrists isnt that much fun" i dont think billy is anything like "Gerard" though, billy wasnt emo

i liked them at first, but then i just realised they arnt very original, they are just bland screamo emo, similar band like bullet for my valentine, and, i hate to even have to mention them, to curse this site by even having their name mentioned but i must, Panic! at the disco, there i said it, i know, you can ban me from the site for a week if you need to. haha

MCR are alright. Nothing really special. I guess they have one or two songs I like ...But they suck live.

I know it's very unpopular for some reason, but personally I really like MCR. I feel they're one of the best bands of recent years. Their first album was pretty good and I thought their second album was excellent. I'm looking forward to their next one too.

well i think they are just one of the pop bands of recent years...

It has grown on me a little but, like with other bands I don't like but still listen to, I have to be in a mood (which is hard to acheive). I do belive Gerards voice can be annoying (not to mention his facial expressions in the music videos can be quite disturbing) and I think sometimes I see them as rip-offs but everyone likes them so much it's me against almost an entire middle school. So...I don't really think about them much.

Hmmm, I find everyone seems to hate them. But maybe that's because I'm older than you. People seem to complain that they aren't rocking enough... enough for what, I don't know.
I find them musically to be similar to Alkaline Trio - another band I like. I do have a fairly diverse taste in music though.

Definitely that I'm sure. It's either MCR, 50 Cent, or some country singer where I live .
I kinda like the Alkaline Trio but I'm not really into that genre. I am more into the "softer side of rock" I guess.

MCR is neither here nor there for me. I won't go out of my way to listen to them. For Doug - Panic! at the Disco is starting to get on my nerves, however.

well, where do you hear panic at the disco anyways, besides the music channels and radio, and who watches them or listens to that (at least not the pop-music radio stations)

ive given up on listening to the radio- there is only one alternative music radio station where i live and even then its for art students high on marijuana.

MCR are very influenced by the pumpkins. they said so in a press release recently, and as a fact, three cheers for sweet revenge was their second album. bullets was the first. MCR are the only close to emo band that I can stand.
