Notes
-----
This was the 1st show @ the Fillmore that was pro shot. so we might see some of these songs later. Billy was in a very good mood on this Friday night. a lot of short banter. The last banter was the only one long enough that i felt could use its own chapter. I have some wonders about the audio sync being perfect during Drown - 1979. It feels like it goes in & out of sync. some people don't notice it, the rest of the show feels like it is in sync perfectly.

Highlights: This show was pretty smooth. lots of guitar changes. Nice 1979 full band. Last performance of Daydream & The Crying Tree of Mercury @ the Fillmore. lots of panning in this footage to see a lot of the band

A HD 1080i BLU-RAY version currently not available for public circulation but does exist. (I am looking for Asheville shows in HD to trade for)

Hey, I just downloaded the first disc, but it's all in VOB files, and I don't even know what that is. Does anyone know how I can play it through Windows Media Player? If not, I would love it if someone could somehow convert those files into something that my computer can play.

Thank you to anyone that can help me.

Does that mean I will only be able to play the DVD through that player?

There are probably some other players that could play it, but VLC is the best. Or you could burn it to a DVD like Monte suggested. Is there any particular reason you need it on Windows Media Player?

There is no great reason, it's just my preference. So that doesn't matter too much.
I'm quite unfamiliar with VOB files, and I was just unsure if they are easy to burn onto a DVD and if it would play well.

Actually try this: Change the .vob at the end of the filename to .mpeg then see if it'll play in Windows Media Player. If you don't see .vob at the end of the filename, you may need to uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" in your folder options.

Could someone (someone? what about sometwo or somethree?) try these different ways, so I can make a judgement on how I should view it (if)/when I download it?

Well I finally got round to downloading it (still downloading the second disc actually). To play it I just extracted the .iso file from the .rar files, "mounted" it using PowerISO (makes Windows think it is a DVD in a DVD drive) then played it through Media Player. Probably the easiest way to do it without burning it to DVD.

I've now converted the DVD (disc 1) to a Divx AVI file. It comes out at about 1.2GB rather than 4GB. I'd say it loses just a very slight bit of picture quality, but I did have it adjust the volume during the conversion, so the audio is better.

Now I can't decide whether to just keep the AVI or burn the ISO to DVD!

So I just watched the first 'DVD'. Awesome performance and good quality for a bootleg. It's got me looking forward to the official Fillmore DVD more, and REALLY wanting a CD of the non-album tracks they performed there.
