Timelines are out of skew right now because of the writer's strike making this season 13 eps instead of 16, but I honestly don't know when they'll give a proper go of explaining what it is. Well, the relation is that JJ Abrams is behind both LOST and Cloverfield and the point is that he decided a Dharma logo in Cloverfield was necessary. I don't understand what the hell you're asking.

As with most things LOST you have to accept that things are the way they are, then ponder the significance- not ask what makes the sky blue (or purple, in this case) and why.

You know, like The LOST Experience? To some end, LOST materials show Cloverfield images, and to some end Dharma has something to do with Cloverfield.

If you're asking about the SIGNIFICANCE of the connection, I haven't been told. I would suspect, though, that it's a dead ended implication that Dharma is somehow responsible for the creature and/or what the creature did.
