if we think about it, positvily, our demise would be a bew beginning for the earth.
humanities erradication would be the best thing to happen to the earth since the cenazoic era began. ;P

you know what drives me the craziest. That all the things we don't like about our government, ect, all it would take is for we as a nation to come together as a whole and change things. One person can't do it, but a nation could.
We could make things right. If we would just do it.

Yeah if you think about it that way, but in reality it's not about the earth's wellfare, it's about humanity's welfare.
Any planet or other species is expendable as long as mankind isn't affected. The only reason the earth should be saved is because at the moment human-kind's existence is dependent on it's well-being.

Ah, but then another species will become the dominant race, and be like Human 2.0
And if you're the type (like me) who believes in it, then you'll be reincarnated when you die, so eventually, after a few lifetimes, you'll get to live as one of them.
SWEEEEET.
I heard somewhere, that if praying mantises were a metre long, they'd be the dominant species of the earth.

I heard the Earth's magnetic poles are supposed to reverse on 12/21/12
i watched a show on the discovery channel (i think) about the earths magnetic poles reversing, that is some crazy stuff, they say that it has happened before and we are due for it to happen again.
also... we do need to take care of what we have ie. the earth, cause really it is all we have, and i would like to not worry and be happy, but with the way people are destroying it at an alarming rate, it is hard to be happy. i think that ApathysEcstasy is right, if a whole nation just up and decide to do something right for the earth we could make a huge difrence. but you also have the big companies that make thier living off destroying the earth, and they have the money, and alot of lawmakers like the lobbiests money.
i do know that if praying mantises were that long, i would be afraid, very afraid.

why?
Why is it that as a species our ego destroys our rationality?
why do we as the human animal place the utmost importance in ourselves?
I would gladly die. SO long as i knew that our "demise" would be for the better good. Lets face it our species is inherently evil. theres more possibilty for evil actions upon our earth if we survive.
But we had a good run.
and if we did some how enact anarchy,
it would be even worse for us.
we need governement, no matter how corrupt our
'democracry' is we wouldnt last the day without
it.
and if the shifting of the poles is true;
all we can do is put our heads between our legs and kiss our tails goodbye. thats reality!
or good riddance haha.

Alright, cool, Bwak, go die. I think the rest of us humans have a lot more living to do. And we are most certainly not inherently ANYTHING (evil, good, smart, dumb.) We are born as clean slates with nothing but curiosity! That goes for ALL animals.
Fatalism isn't going to save our planet, mate. Optimism and action will, as ApathysEcstacy suggested.

What I said isn't necessarily as it seems, it's just our race's stripped-down motive.
Why do we, the majority of people not love seal clubbing? Because seals are cute and it makes us sad when they die and some people care about them, so what happens to them, (just an example) affects us. Same as our planet, same as dogs and cats, in general.

Hey guys, I found another theory on 2012.
It sounds REALLY REALLY REALLY stupid at first.
But if you get to the end of the second episode (of five, I've only watched the first two.) it actually sounds like a decent theory.
However, it's ridiculous to say that this is fact.

Optimism?
i laugh at that. Alright, say we don all croke by 2012;
will optimism and recycling now and then save the planet?
Action? When? Now? sorry. not even now.
No.
It's just fact. The earth undergoes mass extinctions every eon or so. Even cutting our dependence on fossil fuels cold turkey, or putting a ginormous AC system in our ice caps can save us.
Whether we as individuals want to live till were senile [or not] can do absoluting nothing about it.
It'd be nice to turn into whoos hold hands sing and save the earth; but for that the ENTIRE human population would have to help. That may even mean going back into the caves. No way will the fat cats put the needs of our planet before the needs of their pockets.
hey! we can blame aqua net and the stiff straw heads of the eighties. It's hard being a model human. but it's easy to litter!

And now I know what you mean by the ending. What a horrible ending.
