I bought a MXR Phase 90 pedal today. It's simple phaser, nothing more. It sounds really good and has a more natural sound than others I've tried. So I'm pretty happy with it.

Yeah, but I'm not exactly sure how to play the main riff.

simple: octave chords and harmonics. if your having trouble with that, try the bass line first then add the next octave to it and add harmonics. thats one good thing about pumpkins songs. if you can figure out the bass line just make them into power chords and you can get the rhythm guitar, for most of the songs at least.
