Ok, so I'm having a SP withdrawal, I haven't heard anything that's new to me for a while.

Would you guys recommend James Iha's Let It Come Down?

I wouldn't recommend Let It Come Down to get your Pumpkins fix, but I would recommend it simply because it's a fantastic album!

Definitely one of my favorites of all time.

Oh, and what about Jimmy Chamberlain Complex's Life Begins Again? I hear that's good if you're into SP..

You wont necessarily like the Jimmy Complex Album just cause your into the pumpkins, but if one of your fave things about them is the amazing drumming then definately give it a spin. The actual songwriting isnt that good but the drumming is awesome as you can expect. But definately try Iha's let it come down. That genuinely has some amazing songs on it!

Or start looking around for old Zwan bootlegs. All there best songs were never recorded haha

im going through the same thing except i have heard JCC and LICD is kinda bad- james is an aweful singer i must say

The song Loki Cat, which Billy sings on the JCC album is not bad- of course Jimmy's drumming is good. Otherwise the albums just ok. As for LICD, I can hardly listen to it. Its kind of cheesy sounding. If you want something Pumpkin related, but not Pumpkins go with Zwan or The Future Embrace. The Future Embrace took some getting used too, but there are actually some decent songs on there. Not the greatest, but pretty good.

I'm kind of going through Pumpkin withdrawl too. I'm just going to listen to some other non SP/ SP related stuff though.

Well I survived all those years without hearing anything new by the Pumpkins until Zeitgeist came out, I'm sure you had to wait all those years too so I think you are gonna be just fine.

And yes, James' album is great, you will love it.
Not so sure about Jimmy's... I didn't like it very much.

And for non pumpkins related stuff... You should listen to THE SMITHS!!! You'll fall in love with Morrissey's lyrics and Marr's music. For a good start, I would recommend 'The World Won't Listen'.

well,it's unreal, but its not really like sp. i'd bet ud like it though.

JCC is unreal ... i love the drumming and theres hint of "jazzy feeling" to it ... i just love it

as for LICD ... i never really got into it but if your into mellow stuff LICD is a great listen

TFE it did take some adjusting after hearing what pumpkins did and knowing it was billy that wrote the songs and then hearing him solo it was i guess like when adore came out it was different not necessarily in a bad way but it took some getting used to ... great listen though

Zwan have some great unreleased stuff that is definitely worth a listen... spilled milk is worth the download and even their live stuff its really good ... don't really recommend the songs that aren't sung by billy in Zwans "demos" though as they aren't that great...

Haha, ok, so I'm getting the vibe here that I should hear LICD and JCC.

I'm kind of thinking that I will like JCC a bit more, seeing as I play drums, and I quite like the kinds of SP songs that feature a lot of drumming.

It's hard for me to tell weather I like TFE or Zwan better. They are both kind of cheesy in their own way. Not only that, the sound is completely opposite, TFE is dark and gloomy and atmospheric, and Zwan is like "YAY, SUNSHINE AND FLOWERS! LET'S GO FLY AWAY ON A RAINBOW!"

I saw in someone's signature on a forum once (maybe on this forum?): "The ammount of times JI says 'Love' on Let It Come Down: 965,852,534,243......"

I counted it on a lyrics website, and it was close to 80. Which is still a lovely effort.

Maybe you should listen to some live shows

yeah you should of gotten the vibe that you need to listen to JCC cause they are awesome ...

a very mainstream sounding JCC song is "life begins again"

I am going to listen to JCC again. I haven't heard it in a while.

agreed james is a good guitarist but a terrible singer he blows i don't have one fav song of his wear he sings stick to the guitar james its ur voice.
