Hey guys,

First off, let me introduce myself. I'm Joe and I'm 20, soon to be 21. I've began listening to the Smashing Pumpkins back in 1993 mainly because my sister got me into them and I've been listening to them since. They've always been one of my most favorite bands. I'm originally from Lyndhurst, NJ (about 10 minutes away from Manhattan), but currently I'm a junior living at the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA.

Now that the introductions are over, I've got a few questions that I was hoping you guys can answer.

First,
Does anyone know if the Pumpkins band members are all the original members? Will D'Arcy or Auf der Maur be the bassist? Will there be any additions to the group's lineup?

Second,
I know the RSPAA is a great resource to download some juicy rarities of the Pumpkins, however, is there any easier way to download the songs? I mean, you can't even download two at a time. Does anyone have any ideas?

Third,
I know this may sound dumb, but I'm not very music savvy. What is "Call Out Hook" on some of the singles? Is it basically 10 seconds of silence or something?

Fourth,
Why do different sections of the "Pastichio Medley" have different names?

Fifth,
Has anyone ever heard of the band "Hum"? They are a highly unrecognized band that had so much potential to be great. They've gained some popularity with their '95-'96 radio hit "Stars". I was wondering if anyone knew of any bands that are similar to this one. Also, does anyone have the remixes of Stars? They were done by Empirion, the side project of Prodigy.

#1 All we know is that Billy and Jimmy are in the band. The chances of James or Darcy coming back are looking slim.

#2 That's just the way it is.

#3 A Call Out Hook is a short sample from the song that radio stations use.

#4 The Pastichio Medley is made up of many instrumentals, and those instrumentals have names.

#5 I haven't heard the band.

Hello pumpkins lovers and everything to do with billysmorgan and co. I have been a huge fan for over a decade and have spent hours reading message boards without ever registering . This was mainly because of netphoria . It is great to find somewhere where people actually talk about the pumpkins and not about each others genitals.

Im looking forward to posting and basking in some pumpkin fun.

I'm not sure where n00bs like myself are meant to introduce ourselves, but I figured here is the best place. If it isn't, then I'm sorry and I'll crawl back to the hole I came from.

Anyways, this site seems much nicer than Netphoria. Seems to be civil, with people who actually like the Pumpkins.
