No more Pumpkins CDs... :( 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
At least make LP's or Vinyl, The Pumpkins are one of the biggest band's in the world and they can afford it. If you wont my openhearted 2 sense maybe Billy as a song righter is starting to find it hard to keep up with himself eg. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness a massive under taking a bold move back in the day. I don't know what Corgan is at, they didn't release zeitgeist on LP only the singles.
Well I didn't foll in love with The Pumpkins for American Gothic, It was the underrated songs of Gish • Siamese Dream • Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness • Adore • Machina/The Machines of God • Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music and Zeitgeist... When you're in the crowd at a pumpkins gig and you know every word of every song you feel like your the biggest fan, its just fucked up if the band to ask for your credit card its the working class that's put the pumpkins here not every one has a ipod or not every one wont's to see if your song plays on there phone.
I'd love to see yous going back to the shoe box full of tapes never given up or taking the easy way out.
sorry about this comment going of track so many times, its just this topic has got me mad/sorry, I don't wont to kid my self.
I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU WHEN YOU LOVE ME, I LOVE YOU WHEN YOU HATE ME, I LOVE YOU WHEN YOU THINK I'M THE GREATEST THING EVER, I LOVE YOU WHEN YOU FEEL I HAVE LET YOU DOWN, I LOVE YOU BECAUSE I KNOW WHO YOU REALLY ARE... I LOVE YOU!

In reference to that.
So when you said: "I meant some people would beg to differ in terms of an album where all the songs are great on their own", you mean some people think all the songs on Adore are great stand-alone tracks? I like them all, but I don't think they'd jump out to a casual listener hearing them for the first time, which is what I was saying.

When I said some people beg to differ, I meant they wouldn't necessarily agree with what you said about the standalone tracks on Adore, and like each and every one of them.

The four I mentioned? Of course not, that goes without saying. I can't add "in my opinion" after every comment though. Well, I could, but I'm not going to.

i like having something to hold in my hands- a CD with album art. and i also like it best when they release an album, but hey, if the music is good i will be happy.

we'll probably still be able to get cd's of the pumpkins new stuff, just not the traditional way like at best buy. we might be able to buy it from their online store.

Besides their albums, they could collect all their extra stuff (like "Superchrist" / "Ma Belle"..... ) and release another B-Sides/Rarities Collection (like "Pisces IScariot" / "Judas O" ) in 2-3 years.
I'd appreciate this...But I think I-Tunes kills my hopes

Billy explaining why the album doesn't work anymore.
He's saying people don't listen to albums anymore. But he says that after saying when they play Machina stuff about 50% of the audience knows it. So 50% do listen to albums. And the 50% that didn't know the songs probably aren't really into the Pumpkins at all.
If they just release singles people aren't going to get all the singles, they'll just get the ones they like. So they still won't know all the songs anyway.
If it's 50/50 why cater to the people who are listening to music casually as a trend rather than the fans who really love the music? Can't agree with Billy on this one, and luckily at the moment he's one of very, very few artists not planning to release albums anymore.

No, he was saying that when they toured Machina about 50% of the audience knew the material. Now when they play Machina songs only 10% of the audience recognizes the song.
