very true, a lot of mcis had backing vocals now that i'm thinking about it as well. more of the slower songs though

but i think once i heard how nicley ginger's and lisa's voices sounded with billy's that he should have them maybe do the back up vocals. cause they sound really good together, i think. billy doing his own sound good too, but ginger's and lisa's voices really coompliment his.

they might sound nice singing with Billy, but i don't think he wants them to be part of the band like that- contributing to albums and stuff.

They are touring members right? It sucks in a minor way, but at the same time..it is his band and it's on his terms

Yeah, but didn't Beautiful sound just that more special because Darcy sang it all with him.

Maybe a bit off topic, but I've always loved Farewell and Goodnight. I wish they did another song where all four of them sang.

Don't forget that one little line on Cherub Rock, "glued on"

On Billy doing his own backing vocals, I think where he fell flat on Zeitgeist was that he over did it. Every song has got a billion Billys going "ahhhhhhh-aaahhhhhhhh-ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh-ahhhhhhh", and it gets irritating.

No wonder so many people preferred the songs when they were first played live.

Otherwise, I think just one backup Billy sounds great. That's probably why I like American Gothic so much more, because aside from The Rose March's intro, he only has one or two backups, and it doesn't sound over done.

Hmmm... the intro to The Rose March is the part of the song that I really dislike. I love the lyrics, and Billy sings it nicely, but I could have done without the opening.

Am I the only person who sees the similarities here?

Superchrist=Silverfuck (long, heavier track, blah blah blah)

G.L.O.W.=X.Y.U. (not to say it'll sound similar, just noticing the abbreviations in both...

I think it is a coincidence. I have noticed that Superchrist sounds very similar to Silverfuck, though, in length and in musicality.

You're not the first to have compared G.L.O.W. to X.Y.U.

If it is like X.Y.U., it would be great to have a bit of Billy's voice cracking again! Otherwise it could just turn out to be a United States clone. We already have a Silverfuck clone. But at least he's kind of getting back on track.

Actually, come to think about it, his voice cracked a LOT on the AOL sessions version of Heavy Metal Machine. Hopefully it goes in that direction...

That would be lovely, but please, please, no more soapy singing like on AG !!!

I didn't mind his singing at all on AG< I thought it was a lot better than the softer songs on Zeitgeist, like Neverlost and Pomp, etc..
