As for Ginger, Jeff and Lisa working on recordings, I can see why the band might be a bit hesitant to bring new people into the studio. Billy and Jimmy have been burnt in the studio in the past, during the early days of SP and of course Zwan springs to mind. With Zwan everything was going great live, they went into the studio and it all changed. Not saying this would be the same situation now, Jeff - Ginger - Lisa are three TOTALLY different people to the other members of Zwan but I can see that BC / JC would be cautious about maybe having that happen again.

The one thing, if it was the only thing that Ginger or Lisa could do on the recordings of future songs in the studio would be some backing vocals. I love Billy, but hearing an echo of Billy on each song becomes a bit much sometimes. Just like there are the layers of instruments, there needs to be a mix or layers of vocals too.

According to an interview with Jeff he stated that he played with Jimmy a few times then Billy had the final word.

Hey, guys, I just wanted to apologize if my mentioning of the audition process irked anyone. You are right - I am going on the hearsay of just one musician, a possibly bitter one at that.

that makes the most logical sense.

I really appreciate Billy's candor in this info. There is a recognition of what has came before, with the good and the bad, but a message about moving forward. Basically it sounds like they are going to go with the flow and see where it takes them. Their not going force themselves to be a four piece in the recording sessions just for the sake of being a 4 piece.

It seemed a lot less condescending than Billy and Jimmy came off as being in their recent SP.com interview. Maybe I was imagining things.

Hearing his comments about working together as a unit for a 1.5 years, I think I understand why he may have not wanted to come back to Chicago before. Part of it may have to do with trying to present the best possible composition of the band, running on all cylinders when they do their homecoming show.

no, i agree. i think this seemed like a really genuine, candid statement about the band and where its at now unlike the last interview in which BC/JC were more on the defensive. i really liked this interview.

it was very good. i still like the mancow interview a little better though.

the mancow interview was funny.
