A pumpkin carriage ride and no girl to kiss on. Wreckless as it seems streaking across the sky. Smashing all my dreams on a pumpkin carriage ride. Wish on me while I burn in your face. Kiss on me and try to learn to swallow and not taste. More like a commet than a shooting star. I wonder... How long it takes to forget who you are.
Something's wrong (with the Bush Administration) Things aren't always what they seem. What appeared to be leaves blowing....up? And then falling from the sky. Actually was a whole flock of birds becoming unable to fly. But try and tell someone. I wrote this in 2001. I don't know if there was the "bird flu" yet but I know the Bush Gore vote thing was going on. I was working as a news director for a local radio station. I scribbled this down on a envelope in my car five years ago. it's pasted in my book of conventional poetry. at most I may have showed 30 people. that's what's so cool about this site. I get to share more. it's really cool when I see someone from the other side of the world looking. listening. there's some Irony you don't see yet.
Today I submitted my Zero remix. Young Lainie selected the track after hearing it. I pointed out to her. My four poems on this song were written at a time when I was seeing her 7 years ago.(started with a blind date to a pumpkins show). It's unlike me to be head over heals over someone. I told her that's why she inspired me to write "of true Love". I could see the look in her sparkling blue eyes. She never knew. what do you know now young Lainie? Have I ever mentioned Lainie Sunshine is the first blue eyed girl I ever kissed? I wrote her a poem called "breakfast in bed" it's stratigically laid out on top of "goodnight". I also have my Cinderella pumpkin story poem at the end. I told young Lainie I'm gonna have to take that off now. she wants to start a post for couples that share intrest in the pumpkins.
It's to crazy not to blog. I wasn't sure of the exact date or even year. But it was the Adore Tour at St Andrews hall in the spring. A friend told me he had a friend who loved he pumpkins and would go to the show with me. Lainie Sunshine, thank you Jamie. A two hour drive to Detroit was all pumpkins talk and a plan to rush the stage. Being sunny and spring I couldn't help check out young Lainie's blue eyes. We got lost once but I found the way. Lainie wasn't wearing a coat and as the sun went down while we were standing in line it got cold. I gave her my coat. Then she let me in it with her. Inside the hall before the show Billy Corgan walked right next to us. Just quietness. hundreds of people Quiet. Maybe it's what inspired young Lainie, once the pumpkins took the stage. She told me "put your finger in my belt loop". We didn't stop till we were front center stage. it's on the forum as my favorite concert exp. I'm still not sure of the exact date. the other day at the grocery store i bumped into Lainie (it's been years). I told her about how I took poems that I wrote about her and mixed them over pumpkins music beds. That she could check them out online under bob jenkens remixes. we've been talking again. Lainie pointed out the date. It was april then? what year? on friday I came home with my daughter who had fallen asleep. I laid her down then went to open a window. When I opened the blinds something fell. It's my ticket stub. The Smashing Pumpkins April 10 1999. how long has this been behind this blind? almost seven years to the day Lainie. Have you ever put together a puzzle? two pices kinda on top of each other. Slide it just a bit and they fall and snap together. those two go together. like spoons on a couch so are....... never mind. what do you know Lainie? We'll make the show no matter where it is. I'll just keep holding on to young Lainie's belt loop.
I use to do a morning show on the radio. 102.5 wmxe in hillsdale michigan. We were hot AC format playing best hits and best variety. I'd step out of format and play the pumpkins. "for my own personal consumption I'd tell my listeners. I turned them on to the pumpkins. I think it's what I was trying to do by putting my poems on top of pumpkins music. Some people put their nose up to the smashing pumpkins. Stero typing. Well I have something I think they'll listen to. E-mail them the link to bobjenkens remixes and see if they don't become a pumpkins fan. I've done 12 tracks using 29 of my poems over pumpkin music beds. For my own personal consumption. Mine and Zoe's, the other day at a drive through window I asked the young lady. Did she like the pumpkins. She said she'd never really listened. I hit eject pulled out my cd and gave it to her. She's now turned on to the pumpkins. As we were pulling away, My five year old asked me. "you gave away our pumpkins?". "you got more at home right dad?". yeah Zoe we have more pumpkins. I have a poem called clear skies and strars. It's typed out on my profile on this site. I've been working with Zoe on putting it n top of pumpkins music for moms day. only don't tell mom. were using by starlight.

I was looking at all the hits my "pray" poem is getting. It's past the poems I have on pumpkins tunes and I don't have it on a song. what's a good pumpkins tune I can put this on top of? I'm listening.
I have a 4 year old girl "Zoe". We hang out tight. Do lunch at wendi's twice a week. I can't get her to school on time.lol. But when I tell Zoe sing me some punkins she sings landslide. calls it the I'm affraid of changing song. She sings the verse dads getting older to. I'm not getting any younger. it's what i'm listening to.
