Billy killed our dreams

Some people could say that Billy's solo album is an experience...

But it's a really bad album. It's hard to think that someone who made MCIS made that garbage.

Well... I liked it, so THERE!!!

And remember! He made it specifically sound very un-pumpkiny. So it's very understandable why it wasn't well recieved.

It's called musical evolution for those tone deaf philistines who lash out with knee jerk attacks every time something new that comes out doesn't sound like BWBW. Sure, there were some throw away tracks; however, there were also some that make your spine tingle, and that's why I'll buy anything Corgan puts out.

Relaaaxxx.... I thought it was a nice album, but a lot of other people didn't... It's definately a nice advancement for Billy, but he was really in the wrong territory...

....really makes you wonder about how the new pumpkins stuff is going to be like...

Its really hard to actually say that this is billy corgans first solo effort. Most of SP material was done by him and chamberlin. If any of you know the history of the pumpkins, siamese dream was literally recorded by him alone. This album is just an extension of adore, billy is making music for himself, not the masses. The album is great, and is a great leap foward in progressive rock

The album took some warming up on my part beyond the initial TFE EP. As Billy said, he wanted to challenge us, yes, even the fans. And I am happy that we have an ARTIST here who willing to give us variety versus the same-ole-same-ole. Great song!

As anyone who has been following up on Billy would know, he is " trying to live his life for today", and is embracing the future, hence the title " The Future Embrace". I think all of you naysayers (you know who you are) need to give the guy a break; we cannot live in some prolonged time warp of circa 1990's Pumpkins music, although we can continue to appriciate it in all of its splendor. But as the fact remains, the times are changing, and we must change with the times and open our minds and hearts to this lyrical genius who has so welcomed us into his.He is absolutely brilliant, and those who undermind him should think twice, for the magician has something new up his sleeve, and I, for one, am prepared to be blown away yet again.........

Hes always able to come up with some of the most unique stuff. I dunno, I've never seen anything like this before, but there might have been. It still rocks.

i guess i like it, but i agree with D'arcy on this one...
Making things on the computer is all well and good, but, call me old fashioned, making real music is always better.

(i dont know the exact quote, it was something like that on one of the documentaries.)

This video has groundbreaking images, and effects like "tonight, tonight" but heartbreaking that not even a ripple of open arms to his new art of heart smilies/billy.gif

The past SP was much better. Ihis album is a lame one compared to the past SP albums. Can't wait for the SP band to reform.

'Making things on the computer is all well and good, but, call me old fashioned, making real music is always better. ' good on ya. i prefer when people pour their blood and sweat into their projects eg. in the studio day and night, sweating over a guitar, trying new things with a guitar pick.smilies/heart.gif smilies/james.gif smilies/billy.gif smilies/jimmy.gif smilies/darcy.gif

There's absolutely nothing groundbreaking about this video, folks. It's like every other video made in this decade: cardboard cut-outs.

See Incubus' Megalomaniac, Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out and Modest Mouse's Float On. Nothing original.

The Future Embrace was not created on a computer. Just because it's very electronic sounding, does not mean it was made by a robot. Remember these things called electric guitars that have been around for 60 years? Remember these electronic keyboards that have been around for 40 years? And when was the last time you saw a band using an acoustic bass? Besides the Eagles. You think Billy didn't pour his heart and soul into this album? You're dead wrong. You're saying the same thing about electronic music that people said about guitar distortion years ago, and where would the Pumpkins be without THAT?

This song and the album 'TFE' is great. Billy has created a genre all of his own. I don't think he really cares if people who only ever liked MCIS like this album or not. His musical and lyrical talents go far beyond the scope of MCIS (as great an album as it is). IMO he is the most honest, heartfelt musician of recent times. Brutal then subtle then serious then hilarious - like life. I hope he keeps writing forever. For the record, I think CameraEye is the best song on TFE. Long live SP and BC/JC!
