hi!

i discovered the smashing pumpkins 2 years ago, so some of you would call me a newbie. i have found alot of people i know saying that i will only like them for a short amount of time then move onto the next band i discover, though i disagree.

im sick of todays music scene eg: emos, goths, sleazy rappers ect. what i dont get is how 90's music eg TSP, nirvana, became some what 'passe' compared to todays music. the vast majority of teenagers these days dont understand how much effort went into those bands albums' or how talented they really were (are). i bet nelly or 50 cent or chingy dont even know how to play one instrument as opposed to Billy Corgan. he spent days and days in the recording studio making his songs perfect, whereas 'snoop dog' would probably record 'drop it like its hot' 3 times then leave and forget about it until his pay checks would come rolling in.

oh how i wish for my adolescent years to be based in the early ninteys. i envy those who had that privilege.

sorry if it was over the place, i needed to get that out!

i agree, and i too wish i lived in 1994!those days sound so sureal. Just think: nirvana has been gone for 12 years, but they still have millions of loyal fans.Rap was not designed to last though. Only because thats what kids like, and rappers know they will get paid. Kurt cobain did it for the love of the music.

Chingy didn't record 'Drop It Like It's Hot" but I think I pretty much catch your drift. Yeah the '90s were pretty badass. Too bad for me I didn't really get into Nirvana until early this year. Oh well.

I always wanted to be like 15 in the mid 80s and like 21 in the early ninetys...the music out now sucks...most of it anyways.

90s were fun..
i'm sorry about the music today...but kids, enjoy your youth, dont try to live your life through someone else eyes..
(and please let kurt's soul rest..if you really did know anything about him, you would know he was a private person and would hate comments about him, good or bad 12 years after his death on the "a internet blog"..and at 28, im still not sure what a blog is yet..so please, let him sleep.)

I would have prefered being in the 70's so I can see Led Zeppelin, but I could still wait a decade for the Pumpkins

I completely agree with everything you said, i often dream of being my age now in 94, that way i could save up and go to the final metro, or at least the united center.
