My unfinished attempt at STRTJ. I didn't quantize the drum track so it's a bit sloppy, because I had intended real drums but due to a mishap of my fist going thru the machine it was recorded on... this is all that remains! Recorded during my many demo type-thinggers about 2 years ago, I would basically record cover songs as a relief from my own music, Smashing Pumpkins always seemed to be a part of that; Born to please... I had always wanted to finish it but my chance is blown [literally], but I still like it alot, the simplicity in the music to this song always moved me, especially when I hear it without words done in my own way, but it isn't too far from the Pumpkins' version at all, such a powerful song, it's a surprise it never made an album.
The drums were done with my Roland MC-307, for those of you who don't know, a machine basically made for making techno beats, I like the dry sound of this effect for the drums so I use it quite a bit, but like I said my intensions were for real drums which I was going to record over the fake drums, sort of a reference point, I think the only part of those drums that are in time are the hi-hats from my original click track.
