It's a nice new angle to the song, though it seems a bit emotionless to me. I like the guitar work, and especially the electronic drums.

Nice job!
pretty voice and well done

What a beautiful singing!!!

the singing is good, i kind of like the apathetic tone you have in some parts of the song to balance out some of the more emotional notes you hit, guitar is great, but it could use a little bass, but i really like it smilies/smiley.gif

Oh and, the guitar and drums are fine, that person is just dumb, plus I don't see them trying anything.

We have our draw winner!
written by Guest , February 08, 2008
I would like to congratulate Somaziro (and the Netphoria All-Stars) for winning the random draw! Somaziro will receive the silver Zeitgeist, the Tarantula CD single, and a copy of Ghost Children 2. Remember, this is a random drawing, so it was not based on the quality of the cover.

The way I conducted the draw is this. I assigned everyone a number according to when they submitted their entry (Somaziro's "Ma Belle" was the first entry, and Rao's "That's the Way" was the 24th entry). Then wrote each number down in 48 point font in a word document· Since there was 24 entries, I numbered them from 01 to 24, rather than assigning their names. Then I added multiples of the people who did extra, such as post bulletins. One guy even had 18 bulletins that he posted (so he had 19 chances to win), while a couple of others had 2 additional entries (making them have 3 chances to win-one had posted 2 bulletins, while the other bought GC2 and posted a bulletin). I cut them up into squares, and put them into a small saucepan, covered it with an opaque lid, and shook it probably about 100 times lol.

As mentioned in the rules, if you posted bulletins regarding the contest and Ghost Children 2, you would have had to contact me at the Act IV myspace with a link to the bulletins to get credit for those additional entries.

STILL THE VOTING STAGE TO GO:
The voting stage of the contest commences on February 14th, so please take the time to thoughtfully listen to and absorb all the covers. Then come February 14-21, you will be able to make an informed decision on what you feel is the 'best cover song' for the Zeitgeist contest. Please try to vote for what you deem the best cover song, rather than simply supporting your friend's entry smilies/wink.gif.

Also, if you are an artist, please post bulletins calling people's attention to the fact that voting is open to all SP fans (please indicate that only your Pumpkins fans friends should vote in good conscience). After all, only SP fans can truly appreciate covers of Pumpkins tracks smilies/smiley.gif

You should go buy a lottery ticket now! Although I believe 10 of these songs have a legitimate chance to win, I've always liked yours, and I'm glad to see you take a prize, though randomly...
Best of luck in the voting phase. Thanks again for sharing your talents.

Hello everyone. There have been several complaints about the voting system. And after further review, some flaws were identified. My colleague, the webmaster for ThePumpkins.net, Jay (MurderMcMurderson) has installed some new security measures to help ensure more fair voting. And to help things along, we are starting fresh, so the voting is as fair was we can get it from the start.

Please recast your vote if have not already done so. Before you vote, please thoughtfully listen to all the Zeitgeist covers, and choose what you feel is the best cover. In all honesty, this contest should be an indication of how many feel a given cover is the best cover, not who is the most popular band, artist, or person.

If you have submitted something for the contest, please encourage your fans to check out all the covers before making a decision. You are welcome to mention that you have a cover up for the contest, but I am imploring you not to blatantly tell people to go vote for your cover.

I know we cannot control what people to tell their fans on myspace or anywhere else, but I am asking you to do a favor to everyone involved, and be as fair and honest as possible. In the scheme of things, I would hope that people would get more enjoyment from winning fairly, knowing what people actually think of their cover, rather than distorting the outcome to win a few CDs and vinyls.

take care,
David

David,
Thanks from everyone that you are trying to run a fair contest. All artists are due fairness in the voting.

Since this is probably the last song everyone listens to, I thought it might be fun for everyone to post their top 5 favorite songs. I will start.

1. Ma Belle Somaziro
2. Come On Lets Go Shinji Kun
3. Revolution Blues United States acoustic
4. Thats the Way Rao
5. Doomsday Clock CS Bartlett
*Honorable mention to Vidooch on Zeitgeist. As much as I dislike computer generated music, I have to give you props on your song.

Not neccessarily in that order. Have to listen one more time before deciding the number one. Great job done by all.
wow
