The project works like this: Interested Smashing Pumpkins fans worldwide pre-purchase a copy of my upcoming, in-depth biography of Billy Corgan and the Smashing Pumpkins. In doing so, they let the world know there is (or is not!) interest in such a tribute, and that a given number of orders are guaranteed. By purchasing the book in advance, for whatever amount you feel comfortable, I can afford to complete the book and have it custom printed and delivered to your doorsteps – completely bypassing contractual obligations, publishing company red tape, and advertising costs that would otherwise prohibit this tribute from being completed.
